Anthony Mantha (born September 16, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Mantha was drafted 20th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior As a youth, Mantha played in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Collège-Français Rive-Sud minor ice hockey team. He was drafted 76th overall in the 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Val-d'Or Foreurs. During the 2010–11 season, Mantha made his QMJHL debut in December, appearing in two games with Val-d'or, spending most of the season with the College Charles-Lemoyne Riverains in Quebec's midget AAA league. During the 2011–12 season, Mantha played in 63 games for Val-d'or in his first full year in the QMJHL. Mantha finished with 22 goals and 29 assists. CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game
The CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is an annual event in which forty of the top NHL Entry Draft eligible prospects in the Canadian Hockey League play against each other in an all-star game environment. Players are able to boost their draft ranking with the National Hockey League scouts and general managers attending. Each team is led by a celebrity coach, usually Don Cherry and Bobby Orr. From 1992 to 1995 the event was known as the CHL All–Star Challenge, between the three constituent leagues of the CHL. In 1996, the Canadian Hockey League entered into a partnership with the National Hockey League to create a prospects game. Rosters for the event are chosen in conjunction with the NHL's central scouting and general managers. Baie-Comeau Drakkar
The Baie-Comeau Drakkar is a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League that plays at Centre Henry-Leonard in Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Canada. The name "Drakkar" refers to a type of longship. History The Drakkar first played in the QMJHL in 1997–98 season. One of the founders of the team was former Quebec Nordique co-founder Marius Fortier. The Michel Brière Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the Most Valuable Player in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. It is named for former QMJHL and NHL player Michel Brière, who was killed in a car crash. The Drummondville Voltigeurs are a junior ice hockey team of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The franchise was originally granted for the 1982–83 season, and is based in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada, playing its home games at the Centre Marcel Dionne. The team won the QMJHL's President's Cup in 2009. History Drummondville had a QMJHL team at the foundation of the League in 1969, called the Drummondville Rangers. However, the team folded at the end of the 1973–74 season. For the 1982–83 season, the city was granted an expansion franchise, along with the Longueuil Chevaliers. The Sherbrooke Phoenix is a major junior ice hockey team based in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, that plays in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
