Anthony Irby (died 1682)
Sir Anthony Irby (c. 1605 – 2 January 1682) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1628 and 1682. Irby was the eldest son of Sir Anthony Irby and his wife Elizabeth Peyton, third daughter of Sir John Peyton, 1st Baronet and was born before 17 January 1605. He was admitted a fellow-commoner at Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1620. He was knighted on 2 June 1624. In 1628, Irby was elected Member of Parliament for Boston and sat until 1629 when King Charles decided to rule without parliament for eleven years. He was High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1637. In April 1640, Irby was elected MP for Boston again in the Short Parliament. He was re-elected MP for Boston for the Long Parliament in November 1640. He sat until 1648 when he was excluded under Pride's Purge. Sir William Wray, 1st Baronet, Of Glentworth
Sir William Wray, 1st Baronet, of Glentworth, Lincolnshire (c. 1555 – 13 August 1617) was an English Member of Parliament. He represented the constituency of Grimsby from 1584 to 1585, Lincolnshire in 1601 and Grimsby again from 1604 to November 1611. He was appointed High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1594 and was created a baronet on 25 November 1611. Wray was a patron of religion. ''The Estate of the Church, with the Discourse of Times'' (1602), translated and expanded by Simon Patrick from Jean de Hainault was dedicated to him. John Smyth regarded Wray as the major supporter of "godly" religion in the county. Peregrine Bertie (died 1711)
Peregrine Bertie DL (ca. 1663 – 10 July 1711) was a British politician, the second son of Robert Bertie, 3rd Earl of Lindsey. Educated at the Middle Temple in 1679, Bertie first entered the House of Commons in 1685 in Boston, alongside his brother, Lord Willoughby de Eresby, and generally inclined towards the Tories. On 20 June 1685, he was commissioned a cornet in Lord Willoughby's independent troop of horse, raised to suppress the Monmouth Rebellion. In 1689, Bertie did not choose to stand for Parliament, and Sir William Yorke, a Whig, was returned alongside Lord Willoughby. In 1690, when Lord Willoughby was called to the House of Lords by writ of acceleration, Peregrine was returned at the ensuing by-election. However, he now showed leanings towards the Whigs, and solicited his half-uncle's brother-in-law, Hon. Thomas Wharton, to rally Nonconformists on his behalf. Robert Bertie, 3rd Earl of Lindsey PC FRS (8 November 1630 – 8 May 1701), styled Lord Willoughby de Eresby from 1642 to 1666, was an English nobleman. He was the son of Montagu Bertie, 2nd Earl of Lindsey and Martha Cokayne. He travelled on the Continent, in France and Italy from 1647 to 1652, attending the University of Padua in 1651. Thomas Hatcher (''c.'' 1589 – 1677) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1624 and 1659. He fought on the Parliamentary side during the English Civil War. Hatcher was the son of Sir John Hatcher of Careby, Lincolnshire and his wife Anne Crewes, daughter of James Crewes of Fotheringay, Northamptonshire. He was a student of Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1603 and of Lincoln's Inn in 1607. He was elected member of parliament (MP) for Lincoln in 1624. In 1628 he was elected MP for Grantham and sat until 1629 when King Charles decided to rule without Parliament for eleven years. In April 1640, Hatcher was elected MP for Stamford in the Short Parliament and was re-elected MP for Stamford for the Long Parliament in November 1640. William Ellis (solicitor-general)
Sir William Ellis (1609–1680) was an English lawyer, judge and politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1640 and 1679, and supported the Parliamentary cause in the English Civil War. Life Ellis was second son of Sir Thomas Ellis of Grantham, Lincolnshire. He was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge, graduating B.A. in 1627. Having entered Gray's Inn on 6 November 1627 he was called to the bar on 9 February 1634. He represented Boston, Lincolnshire, in the Short parliament of 1640, and also in the Long parliament. After Pride's Purge Ellis was readmitted to the House of Commons on 4 June 1649. On 24 May 1654 he was appointed solicitor-general. Shortly afterwards he was elected an ancient of his inn.
