''Another Grey Area'' is the first solo album by Graham Parker. It was released in 1982 on the Arista label. The album was produced by Jack Douglas and Graham Parker, and features Nicky Hopkins on acoustic piano. Parker said ''Another Grey Area'' was a "beautiful" album, saying, "I've always been striving to make a record that sounds beautiful. I think ''Another Grey Area'' sounds beautiful. ... the perspective is just full. Everything is in the right place. It's not a question of sound. When I say sound, I mean putting instruments in the right perspectives, so you get a bass in the slot, so the whole thing holds together". Graham Thomas Parker (born 18 November 1950) is an English singer-songwriter, who is best known as the lead singer of the British band Graham Parker & the Rumour. Life and career Early career (1960s–1976) Parker was born in Hackney, East London, in 1950. He was a pupil at Chobham Secondary Modern School in Surrey. After the arrival of the Beatles, Parker and some other 12/13-year-olds formed the Deepcut Three, soon renamed the Black Rockers. None of the members actually learned to play their instruments, however, and were merely dress-up bands, adopting Beatle haircuts, black jeans and polo neck sweaters. By the time Parker was 15 he was a fan of soul music, especially Otis Redding, and would go to dance clubs in the nearby towns of Woking and Camberley where there was a thriving appreciation of soul music, Motown and ska. Eric Lee Troyer (born 10 April 1949) is an American keyboardist, singer, songwriter, and occasional guitarist, best known as a member of ELO Part II and its successor The Orchestra. Troyer was a founding member of ELO Part II, having been recruited by band leader Bev Bevan in 1988. He wrote a substantial quantity of the material on ELO Part II's three albums: '' Electric Light Orchestra Part Two''; '' Moment of Truth''; and ''One Night'', a live album recorded in Australia. Krystal L. Davis, or simply Krystal Davis, is an American session musician and background singer for Herbie Mann, Evelyn King and Cyndi Lauper. Her single "So Smooth" was released in 1985 and peaked at number nine on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Singles Sales chart, staying there for 12 weeks. Biography Her musical career began with the 1977 production titled '' The Atlantic Family Live at Montreux''. She afterwards provided vocals for various jazz and disco musicians such as Dazzle, Maynard Ferguson, Herbie Mann or Inner Life and throughout the 1980s, Cyndi Lauper, Change and Melba Moore. Douglas Alan Stegmeyer (December 23, 1951 – August 25, 1995) was an American musician who was best known as the bassist and back-up vocalist for Billy Joel. Stegmeyer also performed as bassist for Debbie Gibson and Hall & Oates. Biography Stegmeyer was born on December 23, 1951, in Flushing, Queens, New York City, New York. In high school, he met Russell Javors, who at age 15 was performing songs with childhood friend Liberty DeVitto. The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts. Before the Kent Report, ''Go-Set'' magazine published weekly Top-40 Singles from 1966, and Album charts from 1970 until the magazine's demise in August 1974.
