Another Animal (album)
''Another Animal'' is the self-titled debut album by the rock band Another Animal. It was released on October 2, 2007. The song "Amends" appeared in the closing credits for the 2008 zombie horror film ''Insanitarium''. History During the writing of '' IV'' by Godsmack, lead singer Sully Erna encountered writer's block; so guitarist Tony Rombola, drummer Shannon Larkin, and bassist Robbie Merrill went to the studio and recorded music. After writing almost 40 songs, only 14 were used. The left-over songs were then recycled by the members after they recruited Whitfield Crane of Ugly Kid Joe as well as Lee Richards, Godsmack's first guitarist, and Another Animal was born. Sound The music of the album sounds similar to ''IV'', but the vocals are distinct. Another Animal was a hard rock supergroup formed by members of Godsmack, Ugly Kid Joe, and Dropbox. History During the writing sessions of '' IV'' by Godsmack, lead singer Sully Erna encountered writer's block so Tony Rombola, Shannon Larkin, and Robbie Merrill went to the studio and recorded music. After writing almost 40 songs, only 14 were used (Two being bonus songs). The left-over songs were then recycled by the members after they recruited Whitfield Crane of Ugly Kid Joe and Another Animal was born. Soon joining the band was friend and former Godsmack and Dropbox guitarist Lee Richards. The band released its self titled debut album in 2007 and first single " Broken Again" reached No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. To support their debut album, Another Animal opened for Alter Bridge on tour in late 2007. Shannon Larkin
James Shannon Larkin (born April 24, 1967) is an American musician, best known as the drummer of rock band Godsmack. He replaced the previous drummer Tommy Stewart in June 2002. Prior to Godsmack, he was a member of Amen, Candlebox, Ugly Kid Joe, and Souls at Zero (formerly Wrathchild America). Shannon played drums for Godsmack for their albums '' Faceless'', '' IV'', '' The Other Side EP'', '' The Oracle'', '' 1000hp'', and their latest album ''When Legends Rise''. Career Larkin has been playing drums since the age of ten. He formed Wrathchild America in 1978, recording two albums for Atlantic Records before being dropped by the label. The group disbanded and later reformed as Souls at Zero, signing with Energy Rekords and releasing an eponymous debut album that was well received by critics. Storm Thorgerson
Storm Elvin Thorgerson (28 February 1944 – 18 April 2013) was an English graphic designer and music video director. He is best known for closely working with the group Pink Floyd through most of their career, and also created album or other art for Led Zeppelin, Phish, Black Sabbath, UFO, Peter Gabriel, the Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Yes, Kansas, Dream Theater, Muse, Audioslave, the Mars Volta, The Cranberries, Helloween, Ween and Catherine Wheel. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Ted Jensen (born September 19, 1954) is an American mastering engineer, known for having mastered many recordings, including the Eagles' ''Hotel California'', Green Day's '' American Idiot'' and Norah Jones' ''Come Away with Me''. Biography Ted Jensen was born to Carl and Margaret (Anning) Jensen, both of whom were musicians. Carl had studied at Yale University. Margaret went to Oberlin College & Conservatory and Skidmore College and was also a pilot. Carl and Margaret met on a train while going to a choral workshop. Ted has one brother, Rick, and two daughters, Kristen and Kim. Dave Fortman (born July 11, 1967) is an American record producer and musician. He is the guitarist for rock band Ugly Kid Joe, and has worked with bands such as Superjoint Ritual, Snot, Atomship, Eyehategod, Mudvayne, Otep, Slipknot (on their fourth studio album, titled ''All Hope Is Gone''), and Simple Plan, as well as on both of Evanescence's multi-platinum selling albums ''The Open Door'' and ''Fallen''. Ugly Kid Joe
Ugly Kid Joe is an American hard rock band from Isla Vista, California, formed in 1989. The band's name spoofs the glam metal band Pretty Boy Floyd's name. To date, Ugly Kid Joe have released five full-length albums, two compilation albums and two EPs.
