Anne Rosellini
Anne Rosellini is an American film producer and screenwriter. She is best known for writing and producing the 2010 film ''Winter's Bone'' with her frequent collaborator Debra Granik. Her work has been nominated for numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Picture and for Best Adapted Screenplay. Before becoming a film producer, she was a programmer for various film festivals in Seattle, Washington. Early life and career Rosellini grew up in Mercer Island, Washington, where she attended Mercer Island High School. She later received a Bachelor of Fine Arts, focusing on film theory and film history, from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduating she relocated to Seattle and established the 1 Reel Film Festival, an annual presentation of short films, while also selecting films to play at the Seattle International Film Festival and the city's Women in Film Festival. The Independent Spirit Awards (abbreviated Spirit Awards and originally known as the FINDIE or Friends of Independents Awards), founded in 1984, are awards dedicated to independent filmmakers. Winners were typically presented with acrylic glass pyramids containing suspended shoestrings representing the bare budgets of independent films. Since 2006, winners have received a metal trophy depicting a bird with its wings spread sitting atop of a pole with the shoestrings from the previous design wrapped around the pole. Daniel Woodrell
Daniel Woodrell (born March 4, 1953) is an American novelist and short story writer, who has written nine novels, most of them set in the Missouri Ozarks, and one collection of short stories. Woodrell coined the phrase "country noir" to describe his 1996 novel ''Give Us a Kiss''. Reviewers have frequently since used the term to categorize his writing.
