Anna Sorokin
Anna Sorokin (russian: Анна Сорокина; born January 23, 1991), also known as Anna Delvey, is a con artist and fraudster who posed as a wealthy heiress to access the upper echelons of the New York social and art scenes from 2013 to 2017. Born to working-class parents in the Soviet Union (now Russia), Sorokin emigrated from Russia to Germany with her family at the age of sixteen in 2007. In 2011, she left Germany to live in London and Paris before relocating to New York City in 2013, where she interned for the French fashion magazine ''Purple.'' Sorokin conceived of a private members' club and arts foundation, which included leasing a large building to feature pop-up shops and exhibitions by notable artists she met while interning. She later created fake financial documents to substantiate her claims of having a multimillion-euro trust fund, and forged multiple wire transfer confirmations. Domodedovo ( rus, Домодедово, p=dəmɐˈdʲedəvə) is a city in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located south of Moscow. Population: The increase of population is due to the merger of three neighboring inhabited localities into the town in 2004. Rachel DeLoache Williams (born January 29, 1988) is an American writer, photographer, and editor. She worked as a photo editor and producer for '' Vanity Fair'' until 2019. Williams is known for being the former friend of Anna Sorokin, who pretended to be a German heiress and was accused of conning Williams out of $62,000, which was only paid back partially by Sorokin but forgiven by her credit card company. Williams later reported Sorokin to the New York City Police Department and the New York County District Attorney, helping the police locate and arrest Sorokin in Los Angeles and testified against her in court. She wrote an article about her experiences with Sorokin for ''Vanity Fair'' in 2018. Since then, she has written for ''Time'' and ''Air Mail'' and wrote the book ''My Friend Anna: the True Story of the Fake Heiress of New York City''.
