Anna Boghiguian
Anna Boghiguian (Cairo, 1946) is one of Egypt's foremost contemporary artists. Of Armenian origin, she has constantly moved between different cities across the globe, from Egypt to Canada and India to France. She studied political science at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, and Arts and Music at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. The artist investigates subjects such as the history of the cotton trade, the salt trade and the life of Egyptian Greek poet Constantine P. Cavafy. In 2017, she had solo exhibitions at Castello di Rivoli and Index—The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation, Stockholm. She has been nominated for the 8th edition of the Artes Mundi award, one of the largest contemporary art prize in the UK. São Paulo Art Biennial
The São Paulo Art Biennial (Portuguese: ''Bienal de São Paulo'') was founded in 1951 and has been held every two years since. It is the second oldest art biennial in the world after the Venice Biennale (in existence since 1895), which serves as its role model. History The Biennial was founded by the Italian-Brazilian industrialist Ciccillo Matarazzo (1898–1977). Since 1957, the São Paulo Biennial has been held in the Ciccillo Matarazzo pavilion in the Parque do Ibirapuera. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi
The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a planned art museum, to be located in Saadiyat Island cultural district in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Upon completion, it is planned to be the largest of the Guggenheim museums. Architect Frank Gehry designed the building. After announcing the museum project in 2006, work on the site began in 2011 but was soon suspended. A series of construction delays followed; the museum is expected to be completed in 2025. The museum is part of a larger complex of arts and cultural institutions on Saadiyat Island intended to appeal to international tourists. The Istanbul Biennial is a contemporary art exhibition that has been held biennially in Istanbul, Turkey, since 1987. The Biennial has been organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) since its inception.
