Ankara International Music Festival
Ankara International Music Festival ( tr, Ankara Uluslararası Müzik Festivali) is a music festival held annually in Ankara, Turkey. In addition to Turkish artists, performers from many countries have participated in the festival. The annual festival was established in 1984 by the Sevda-Cenap And Music Foundation. Çankaya is a district of Ankara, Turkey. It is home to many government buildings, including the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, as well as nearly all foreign embassies to Turkey. Presidential Symphony Orchestra
The Presidential Symphony Orchestra ( tr, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Senfoni Orkestrası), with headquarters in Ankara, is the presidential symphony orchestra of the Republic of Turkey. Its history dates back as far as 1826, making it one of the first symphony orchestras in the world. After The Auspicious Incident and closing of the Janissary in 1826 by Sultan Mahmud II, the Mehter Band was transformed to a western band. On September 17, 1828, Giuseppe Donizetti assumed the role of principal conductor. Until Sultan Vahdeddin the band was called Mizika-i Humayun (Mızıka-ı Humayun, the Imperial Band). Sukhishvili Georgian National Ballet
The Georgian National Ballet ( ka, ქართული ეროვნული ბალეტი, tr) is the first professional state dance company in Georgia. Founded by husband and wife Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili in 1945, it was initially named as the Georgian State Dance Company. The Georgian National Ballet has performed at the Albert Hall, The Coliseum, The Metropolitan Opera and Madison Square Garden, among others. In 1967, the dance company performed at La Scala, reportedly the first and the only time a folklore group was given a chance to perform on its stage. David Perry Hazeltine (born October 27, 1958) is an American jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and educator. Early life Hazeltine was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 27, 1958. He began studying the piano at the age of nine, and first performed professionally when he was thirteen. He attended the Wisconsin College Conservatory of Music from 1976 to 1979. Later life and career 1980–1992 Hazeltine worked around Chicago, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee, and was the regular pianist for the Milwaukee Jazz Gallery. He obtained a BA from the University of Wisconsin in 1991. After performing with Chet Baker at the Milwaukee Jazz Gallery, the trumpeter suggested he should move to New York City, which he did in 1981. The State Philharmonic Orchestra of Sibiu ( ro, Filarmonica de Stat Sibiu) is an orchestra from Romania. History In the 16th century, Sibiu had one of the first European schools for organ, funded by Hyeronymus Ostermayer and the city's archive contains music scores signed by composers of the 17th and 18th centuries.
