Anjos (Lisbon Metro)
Anjos is a station on the Green Line of the Lisbon Metro. The station is located on the Almirante Reis Avenue, close to Monte Agudo. It takes its name from the historic Anjos parish. History The station was designed by the architect Denis Gomes with art installations by the painter Maria Keil. Metropolitano S.A. was a privately owned consortium formed in 1994 to take over concessions granted by the Argentine government as part of railway privatisation during the presidency of Carlos Menem for the operation of commuter rail services in the Buenos Aires Province. Cais Do Sodré (Lisbon Metro)
Cais do Sodré is a station on the Green Line of the Lisbon Metro. It is located in the Praça Duque da Terceira, connecting to the Cais do Sodré railway station and with a boat station (allowing for quick travel between Lisbon and Cacilhas, Seixal and Montijo. History This metro station was built by Pedro Botelho and Nuno Teotónio Pereira and the art work was done by António Dacosta, which left some of his drawings to be used in the station after his death, with some help from the painter Pedro Morais. Aeroporto is the terminal station on the Red Line of the Lisbon Metro. The station was built to serve Lisbon Airport. The station, designed by the architect Leopoldo de Almeida Rosa, opened on July 17, 2012 in conjunction with the Encarnação and Moscavide stations, as part of the expansion of the line to serve Lisbon Portela Airport. Picoas station is part of the Yellow Line of the Lisbon Metro, located on the north side of the city centre on Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo. History Picoas is one of the 11 stations that belong to the original Lisbon Metro network, opened on December 29, 1959. The architectural design of the original station is by Falcão e Cunha. On November 9, 1982, the station was extended, based on the architectural design of Benoliel de Carvalho. Gare do Oriente (), or alternately, the ''Lisbon Oriente Station'' is one of the main Portuguese intermodal transport hubs, and is situated in the civil parish of Parque das Nações, municipality of Lisbon. History In 1994, the station was proposed as part of the modernization of the Linha do Norte, a modification to the rail line to facilitate the future development of a new station in eastern Lisbon. Located along Avenida D. João II, over Avenida de Berlim and Rua Conselheiro Mariano de Carvalho, the station was planned to occupy the lands once occupied by Apeadeiro dos Olivais, which was demolished in the 1990s in order to make way for the new station. Bids for building the project on lands to be used for the 1998 exposition were solicited internationally. The concept was originally designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in 1995, and built by Necso.
