Anita Andreassen
Anita Andreassen (born 9 October 1960) is a Norwegian mushing competitor, and she has also competed in cycling and in cross country skiing. She is three times world champion in mushing. Mushing She received a bronze medal at the 1991 world championship, and gold medals in 1992, 1993 and 1994. She is three times European champion (2 individual, 1 relay), and several times National champion in mushing. Other sports Andreassen was national champion in road cycling in 1979. She was a member of the national team from 1977 to 1980, and has represented Norway in the world championships. She has also competed successfully in cross country skiing. Mushing
Mushing is a sport or transport method powered by dogs. It includes carting, pulka, dog scootering, sled dog racing, skijoring, freighting, and weight pulling. More specifically, it implies the use of one or more dogs to pull a sled, most commonly a specialized type of dog sled on snow, or a rig on dry land. History The practice of using dogs to pull sleds dates back to at least 6000 BC. Remnants of sleds and harnesses has been found with canine remains in Siberia which carbon-dated to 7800–8000 years ago. Native American cultures also used dogs to pull loads. The Egebergs Ærespris ("Honorary Prize of Egeberg") is a prize awarded to Norwegian athletes who excel in more than one sport. The prize was created by Ferdinand Julian Egeberg, and consists of a bronze statuette modelled by sculptor Magnus Vigrestad. History In 1917 a donation of was given by Cabinet Chamberlain Ferdinand Julian Egeberg to the sports association Norges Riksforbund for Idræt. His donation was basis for the sports prize ''Kabinetskammerherre Egebergs ærespris for alsidig idrett''. The statutes for the award were agreed on 10 February 1920. Troms
Troms (; se, Romsa; fkv, Tromssa; fi, Tromssa) is a former county in northern Norway. On 1 January 2020 it was merged with the neighboring Finnmark county to create the new Troms og Finnmark county. This merger is expected to be reversed by the government resulting from the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election. It bordered Finnmark county to the northeast and Nordland county in the southwest. Ingrid Kristiansen (née Christensen on 21 March 1956) is a Norwegian former athlete. She was one of the best female long-distance runners during the 1980s. She is a former world record holder in the 5000 metres, 10,000 metres and the marathon (at one point in time she held those records simultaneously). Kristiansen was a World Champion on the track, roads and cross-country, becoming the first athlete to win World titles on all three surfaces. Anette Bøe
Anette Bøe (born 5 November 1957 in Larvik) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier. Bøe won her first international medal when she took the bronze at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid on the 4 × 5 km relay. She won the 20 km event at the Holmenkollen ski festival twice, in 1984 and 1985. Bøe's biggest successes as a cross-country skier were at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, where she took gold in the 4 × 5 km relay (1982) and the 10 km (1985), silver in the 4 × 5 km relay (1985, 1987), and a bronze in the 20 km (1985).
