Anime Expo
Anime Expo, abbreviated AX, is an American anime convention held in Los Angeles, California and organized by the non-profit Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA). The convention is traditionally held annually on the first weekend of July, spanning the course of four days. Anime Expo is regularly hosted at the Los Angeles Convention Center but has also been held in other cities such as Anaheim, San Jose, New York, and Tokyo. Anime Expo has events and activities during the convention for attendees to take part in such as guest panels, tabletop gaming, competitions, an arcade, and concerts. Anime
is a Traditional animation, hand-drawn and computer animation, computer-generated animation originating from Japan. Otakon
Otakon ( ) is an annual three-day anime convention held during July/August. From 1999 to 2016, it took place at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland's Inner Harbor district; in 2017, it moved to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The convention focuses on East Asian popular culture (primarily anime, manga, music, and Film, cinema) and its fandom. Yoshiyuki Tomino
is a Japanese anime director, screenwriter, songwriter and novelist best known for creating the ''Gundam'' anime franchise. Early life and family Tomino was born on November 5, 1941, in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, to an old family of regional landowners in Ōjima (in present-day Kōtō, Tokyo). His grandfather Kiheiji Tomino was the mayor of Ōjima and statutory auditor of Ōtsuka Rubber Works. Buichi Terasawa
was a Japanese manga artist. His most famous works include '' Goku Midnight Eye'' and ''Cobra''. Early life and career Terasawa was born on March 30, 1955, in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. In the early days of his career, while still unknown, he contributed comics to a magazine that won him a prize. This event led him deeper into the world of comics. In 1976 he moved to Tokyo and began to study under renowned Japanese manga artist, Osamu Tezuka. Keiji Nakazawa
was a Japanese manga artist and writer. He is best known for his semi-autobiographical series '' Barefoot Gen'', a landmark work depicting the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and its aftermath. Lea Hernandez (born March 11, 1964) is an American comic book and webcomic creator, known primarily for working in a manga-influenced style, and for doing lettering and touch-ups on manga imports. She is the co-creator of '' Killer Princesses'', written by Gail Simone and published by Oni Press; and the creator of '' Rumble Girls'' from NBM Publishing.
