2017 Metro Manila Film Festival
The 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the 43rd edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival held in Metro Manila and throughout the Philippines. It is organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). During the festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine theaters (except IMAX, 4D film, 4D, and large format 3D theaters). The festival began with the traditional Parade of Stars (Filipino: ''Parada ng mga Artista'') on December 23, 2017. Unlike the previous editions, which held its parade in Manila, the 2017 parade was held in Muntinlupa to celebrate the centennial of the city's founding as a municipality. ''Kuwaresma'', also known as ''The Entity'', is a 2019 Filipino horror film directed by Erik Matti and starring Sharon Cuneta and John Arcilla, with Kent Gonzales, Pam Gonzales and Guila Alvarez in their supporting roles. The story follows Luis Fajardo (Kent Gonzales), who returns to his home in Baguio to mourn the death of his twin sister. He is welcomed by his parents—Rebecca (Sharon Cuneta) and Arturo (John Arcilla)—in their family, but they remain silent on the truth about the death of his sister. Cast *Sharon Cuneta as Dr. Rebecca Fajardo: A doctor and the passive matriarch of the Fajardo family.
