Aniekeme Alphonsus
Aniekeme Alphonsus (born December 25, 1999) is a Nigerian athlete who competes in sprint and middle distance races. She won a gold and silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay and 100m race, at the 2015 African Junior Athletics Championships. Sports career She participated in 100m and 200m race in the 2014 Nigerian Youth Championships (U18) held in Ijebu Ode (Nigeria). She claimed the gold medal after coming in 1st, with Favor Ekezie and Abolaji Omotayo Oluwaseun ending up with the silver and bronze medals respectively. Aniekeme participated in the 2015 African Junior Athletics Championships. At the 100m race, she came in second after Tamzin Thomas with a time of 11.83s and won the silver medal. Akwa Ibom State
Akwa Ibom State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered on the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers State and Abia State, and on the south by the Atlantic Ocean. The state takes its name from the Qua Iboe River which bisects the state before flowing into the Bight of Bonny. Akwa Ibom was split from Cross River State in 1987 with its capital Uyo and with 31 local government areas. Of the 36 states, Akwa Ibom is the 30th largest in area and fifteenth most populous with an estimated population of nearly 5.5 million as of 2016. 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games
The 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the V Commonwealth Youth Games, and commonly known as Samoa 2015, was the fifth Commonwealth Youth Games which started in the year 2000. It was held from 5 to 11 September, 2015 in Apia, the capital of Samoa. Samoa were the only bidders for the Games. All events took place in the capital city, Apia. The opening and closing ceremonies were held in Apia Park, which also hosted the athletics, rugby and tennis competitions. All other events (boxing, swimming, squash, weightlifting and lawn bowls) were hosted in the Faleata Sports Complex.
