Angelo Maria Bandini
Angelo Maria Bandini (25 September 1726 – 1803) was an Italian author and librarian born in Florence. Biography Orphan since infancy, Angelo Maria was supported by his uncle, Giuseppe Bandini, a lawyer of some note. He was initially educated among the Jesuits, and showed a special inclination for the study of antiquities. In 1747 he undertook a journey to Vienna with the bishop of Volterra, for whom he acted in the capacity of secretary. He was introduced to the emperor and took the opportunity of dedicating to that monarch his ''Specimen Litteraturae Florentinae,'' which was then printed at Florence. On his return he took holy orders, and settled in Rome, passing the whole of his time in the library of the Vatican, and in those of the cardinals Passionei and Corsini. The famous obelisk of Augustus, at that time removed from the ruins of Campus Martius, was described by Bandini in a learned folio volume entitled ''De Obelisco Augusti''. Biblioteca Marucelliana
The Marucelliana Library or Biblioteca Marucelliana, is a public library, founded by the mid-18th century, and located on Via Camillo Cavour # 43, in Florence, region of Tuscany, Italy. History The library was opened to the public on September 18, 1752. It was willed by Abbot Francesco Marucelli, (died in Rome, 1703), as a library of general knowledge open to a wide audience, as indicated by the inscription on the facade: "Marucellorum Bibliotheca publicae maxime pauperum utilitati". The core of the collection derives from the library of Abbot Francesco. Funded by the income of various abbeys in Tuscany, Francesco lived in Rome, where he was sometimes consulted as an expert in the Canon Law. Antonio Maria Biscioni
Antonio Maria Biscioni (14 August 1674 – 4 May 1756) was an Italian historian, philologist, and librarian for the Laurentian library of Florence. He was born in Florence and entered religious orders. Among his pupils were Giovanni Gaetano Bottari Giovanni Gaetano Bottari (15 January 1689, Florence – 5 June 1775, Rome) was Vatican librarian and counsellor to Pope Clement XII. Biography Before he became Vatican librarian, he was director of the grand-ducal press of Tuscany and profess ....
