Angelfire (band)
Angelfire is an American musical duo composed of Steve Morse and Sarah Spencer. Their music combines folk rock, Country music, country and jazz fusion within a Pop music, pop context. The vocal arrangements are influenced by Classical music, classical and new-age music. The duo's lyrics are introspective and invoke the story-telling of Folk music, folk and Country music, country traditions. History Sarah Spencer met Steve Morse in 2007 when her father asked his neighbor (Morse) to hear Sarah sing. Morse was very impressed by her singing and songwriting, and offered to collaborate with her on original material. Sarah had already worked with some acclaimed producers, but this was her first major project. Steve and Sarah wrote and recorded in the studio adjoining his house. Steve brought many songs and ideas to the sessions, as did Sarah. The resulting work reflects both of their musical voices, and a new sound for both artists. Steve Morse
Steve J. Morse (born July 28, 1954) is an American guitarist, best known as the founder of the Dixie Dregs and as the lead guitarist of Deep Purple from 1994 to 2022. Morse has also enjoyed a successful solo career and was briefly a member of the group Kansas in the mid-1980s. Most recently, Morse became a member of the supergroup Flying Colors. Biography Early life Steve Morse was born in Hamilton, Ohio. His family soon moved to Tennessee and then to Ypsilanti, Michigan, where Morse spent his childhood. Although familiar with piano and clarinet, Morse ultimately became a guitarist. Morse worked briefly with his older brother Dave in a band called the Plague until the family moved to Augusta, Georgia. Sarah Spencer
Sarah Spencer (born in Ocala, Florida) is an American singer, songwriter and pianist. Biography Spencer began writing and recording at age 11. She became excited by the possibilities of simultaneous musical parts, and experimented with different genres, including orchestral music. This new direction was encouraged by lessons with classical vocal trainer, Shannon Riley. Over the next two years, Spencer was on stage and in the studio with increasing frequency. She collaborated with other musicians from around the world, singing and co-writing with established artists such as Nigel Jenkins ("Baker’s Street"), David Ricard ("Zoom Zoom") and regular collaborator, Paul Weston ("We Are the Future", "My Desire", "Shine").
