Angel Moraes
Angel Moraes (August 7, 1965 – February 27, 2021) was an electronic music DJ from Brooklyn, New York. Career He began his career in the 1980s and was the DJ at NYC nightclubs including Paradise Garage, and formed the record label Hot 'N' Spycy in 1993. One of his own first releases on the label was "Release Yourself". In 1995 his single "Heaven Knows" reached number 25 on Billboard's Dance charts, and in 1996 his track "Burnin' Up" reached number 41 on the same chart. In 1996 his label began a distribution deal with UK label Subversion Records. Over his career he co-created music with other electronica musicians, including Junior Vasquez. As a remixer, he worked with musicians including Pet Shop Boys, k.d. lang, Roy Davis Jr., Jaydee, and Funky Green Dogs Murk (also known by several other names, including Funky Green Dogs) is a house-music production team composed of Ralph Falcón and Oscar Gaetan. Stereo Nightclub
Stereo is a nightclub and afterhours club in Montreal, Quebec which primarily features house and techno music. The nightclub is known for its famous sound system and loyal following. Stereo has ranked among the top nightclubs in North America and internationally. Stereo was founded in 1998 by DJ-producer Angel Moraes and is currently owned by Tommy Piscardelli. The nightclub has a two floor configuration with the afterhours portion of the club located on the upper floor and a smaller nightclub 'StereoBar' which serves alcohol during sanctioned hours on the lower floor. The nightclub has twice been a target of arson which forced the club to close for repairs in 2008. The reopening, scheduled for September 4, 2009, was delayed due to a second arson attack. The nightclub has a zero-tolerance policy on the drug GHB which is often used as a date rape drug. Stereo permanently bars any patrons caught in possession of the drug. Murk (also known by several other names, including Funky Green Dogs) is a house-music production team composed of Ralph Falcón and Oscar Gaetan. It formed in Miami in 1991. The group had seven consecutive singles that topped Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Career Murk is one of the most influential music label in house music history. It has a vast back catalog of compositions dating from the early 1990s, including "Some Lovin'", "Reach For Me", "Been a long time" and "Every Now and Then," and many newer tracks such as "Fired up!" Jaydee
Robin Albers (born 1956), who uses the stage name Jaydee, is a Dutch house music producer and DJ. Biography After a degree in commercial studies, Albers played in the Dutch national baseball team and was triple Dutch arm-wrestling champion. Then, he started his career as DJ, and was a radio host on Dutch music and sport programs for eleven years. His original stage name was Jei D. In 1992, under the stage name JayDee, he released " Plastic Dreams", which reached number-one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. The song, an instrumental, featured a prominent Hammond organ-style synthesizer melody, played in a jazzy, improvised manner. "Plastic Dreams" continues to be remixed and re-released today, mostly on unsolicited white labels.
