Andy S. McEwan
Andy S. McEwan is a Scottish screenwriter and film director. Life and career Andy S. McEwan (born 31 January 1985) was born in East Kilbride in Scotland. After studying television production at the Glasgow Metropolitan College, he began working as a freelance screenwriter. In 2010, he teamed up with Mark D. Ferguson and Chris Quick to begin work on the feature film ''In Search of La Che'' in which he played a large part in the writing of the film. He also served as a producer, an actor and an assistant director. The film premiered at the Glasgow Film Theatre on 9 November 2011 but received mixed reviews from critics on both sides of the Atlantic. Duane Martin of Rogue Cinema said "As mockumentaries go, this one is a bit of a mixed bag. Some of the characters, and a lot of the story works quite well, but there are a couple of characters and bits of the story that either fall flat or just don’t work at all." Broken Record (film)
''Broken Record'' is a short comedy film following a pair of removal men in East Kilbride who stumble upon an old trunk in a locked cupboard. The film was produced by Pentagram Productions UK and marked the directorial debut for Andy S. McEwan. Plot Set in East Kilbride in 1992, Broken Record tells the tale of Frasier & Tam who whilst working for a removal company stumble upon a trunk in a locked cupboard of an empty flat. The pair prise open the trunk to find it full to the brim of old gramophone records leading them to believe they have just stumbled upon a secret fortune. The lucky find is suddenly plunged into jeopardy when Jim, an on site painter, spots the trunk and wants in on the action. Portobello Film Festival
The Portobello Film Festival is an independent international film festival based in London, which annually premiers over 700 new films, including feature films, features, short films, shorts, documentaries, music films, and animation. The Scottish Short Film Festival
The Scottish Short Film Festival was an independent film festival which has taken place annually in Scotland from 2012 to 2022. From 2012 to 2017, the festival was known as The Raptor Filmz Short Scottish Film Festival until the event was rebranded in 2018. History and format The festival was set up in 2012 by Scottish filmmaker Chris Young who is the company director of Raptor Filmz Ltd in West Lothian. The aim of the festival is to promote short Scottish films with a view of potentially setting up a distribution deal with filmmakers. The first festival took place in Glasgow at the Grosvenor Cinema and was hosted by Scottish actor David Anderson.
