Andris Poga
Andris Poga (born 29 June 1980, in Riga) is a Latvian orchestral conductor. Biography Poga is a graduate of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where he studied trumpet and conducting. He also studied conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and philosophy at the University of Latvia. From 2007 to 2010, Poga was artistic director and principal conductor of the Professional Symphonic Band Rīga. Poga received the Grand Music Award in 2007 in the category Debut of the Year for his concert with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, Poga won first prize in the second Evgeny Svetlanov Conducting Competition in Montpellier, France. From 2011 to 2014, Poga was assistant conductor to Paavo Järvi at Orchestre de Paris. Karel Mark Chichon
Karel Mark Chichon (born 30 April 1971) is a British-Gibraltarian orchestra conductor. Biography Born in London, Chichon studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna under Leopold Hager. Chichon and businessman Ian Angus co-founded the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society in the year 1998. Chichon continues to serve as the society's artistic director. Career Chichon was chief conductor of the Graz Symphony Orchestra from 2006 to 2009. He served as chief conductor and artistic director of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra from 2009 to 2012. Christian Vásquez (born 1984, Caracas, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan conductor and violinist. Vásquez began to study violin at age 9, after being accepted to the ''El Sistema'' program in Venezuela, and he played in the ''Sinfónica Infantil de San Sebastián de los Reyes''. In 2001, at age 17, he began conducting studies with José Antonio Abreu. In 2005, Vásquez became music director of the ''Sinfónica Juvenil de Aragua José Félix Ribas'' (José Felix Ribas Juvenile Symphony Orchestra of Aragua). Conducting is the art of directing a musical performance, such as an orchestral or choral concert. It has been defined as "the art of directing the simultaneous performance of several players or singers by the use of gesture." The Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO; lv, Latvijas Nacionālais simfoniskais orķestris) is a Latvian orchestra based in Riga. Its primary performance venue is the Great Guild Hall in Riga. Boston Symphony Orchestra
The Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is an American orchestra based in Boston, Massachusetts. It is the second-oldest of the five major American symphony orchestras commonly referred to as the " Big Five". Founded by Henry Lee Higginson in 1881, the BSO performs most of its concerts at Boston's Symphony Hall and in the summer performs at Tanglewood.
