Andrew Tompkins
Andrew Tompkins is the lead vocalist and bassist for the Australian doom metal band Paramaecium, which was considered to be the biggest Christian doom metal band. Andrew has a daughter named Enara. Tompkins' cousin is Mark Orr, former drummer of Paramaecium. Tompkins has also written a book entitled "Within the Ancient Forest". The Paramaecium album of the same name was based on this novel. When Tompkins was asked whether or not he believed in Christianity anymore, he stated "...As to whether I'm a practicing Christian, I usually tell people I'm a practicing Christian but not a believing Christian." Revulsed is a technical/brutal death metal band that originated in Australia in 2010. Revulsed's debut album '' Infernal Atrocity'' was featured on No Clean Singing and Trevor Strnad of the Black Dahlia Murder's best albums of 2015 lists. History After the demise of the Christian doom metal band Paramaecium (later inExordium), Jayson Sherlock and Sheldon D'Costa formed Revulsed in 2010. The band wrote their debut album for five years with Justin "Yowie" Smith formerly of fellow Australian Christian death metal band, Metanoia, still in search for a vocalist. For a brief time they had Peter Ball of Those Who Endure as their vocalist; it was not a good fit and Ball left. ''Mortification'' is the debut studio album by Australian Christian extreme metal band Mortification. It was released on 12 October 1991. This album leans more towards death metal than the band's demo album ''Break the Curse'', but retains thrash metal elements. Five songs from the demo album were re-recorded for ''Mortification''. In 2002, ''The Billboard Guide to Contemporary Christian Music'' described the album's sound as "punk-meets-metal grind-core". A bundle containing ''Mortification'' and ''Scrolls of the Megilloth'' was released on KMG Records in 1998 and on Rowe Productions in 2015, with the latter being exclusively on cassette. Soundmass Records re-released the album with five bonus tracks in 2020, and again in 2022 with new remastering and nine bonus tracks recorded at Q.U.T. ''Scrolls of the Megilloth'' is the second studio album by Australian Christian extreme metal band Mortification. It was released on 28 August 1992. The band's most famous release, this album is full-on death metal, with the thrash metal roots barely showing, and possibly their most extreme album to date. According to AllMusic, the album "garnered the band some attention from the heavy metal underground" and contains "some of the most frightening vocals ever recorded." Jason De Ron
Jason De Ron (born 1973) is a musician from Melbourne, Australia, most notable for being the former guitarist for the death/doom band Paramaecium and co founder and guitarist of the avant garde/progressive metal band Altera Enigma. Biography Jason De Ron was born in about 1973, he began playing guitar in 1987 after hearing a guitar solo by Dave Murray of Iron Maiden, and joined Paramaecium in 1992. Jason first met Andrew Tompkins in a cemetery one night in 1991. He was there with Colin "Mosh" Mynard who was a friend of his, and Paramaecium's original guitarist. They were there to photograph the grave for the cover of the ''Silent Carnage'' demo. Paramaecium Jason got to know Andrew further when he attended a Paramaecium rehearsal as they prepared for an upcoming gig with Mortification.
