Andrew Ryan is a fictional character in the ''BioShock'' video game series developed by Irrational Games. He serves as the primary antagonist of the first half of the first ''BioShock'' and a minor character in its sequel, ''BioShock 2'' and its prequel, '' BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea''. Ryan is portrayed as an idealistic business magnate in the 1940s and 1950s; seeking to avoid scrutiny from governments and other oversight, he ordered the secret construction of an underwater city, Rapture. When civil war sees Ryan's vision for a utopia in Rapture collapse into dystopia, he descends into reclusiveness and paranoia. Andrew Ryan (born 2 December 1978, Dubbo, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. An Australia international]and New South Wales rugby league team, New South Wales State of Origin representative forward, he played his club football in the National Rugby League for the Parramatta Eels and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, winning the 2004 NRL premiership with the club and becoming their captain. Playing career A Dubbo High School, St. Johns Dubbo and Emu Plains JRLFC junior, Ryan made his debut for the Parramatta Eels against the Brisbane Broncos at Parramatta Stadium in round 2 of the 2000 NRL season. Sir Andrew Ryan (5 November 1876 – 31 December 1949) was a British diplomat. He was Consul-General to Morocco from 1924 to 1930, Minister to Saudi Arabia from 1930 to 1936, and Consul-General to Albania from 1936 to 1939. Andrew was born 5 November 1876 in Rochestown, County Cork, Ireland the son of Edward Ryan, a soap and candle manufacturer of Douglas, Cork, and Matilda Ryan (nee O'Connor). He was educated at the Christian Brothers College, Cork and studying at Queens College Cork gaining a BA in Greek and Latin from the Royal University of Ireland, and Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Andrew Ryan is an Australian actor best known for his performance as Chris Lang in the film of ''Tomorrow, When the War Began'' (2010) and as one of the stars of ''The Jesters''. Andy Ryan (born 29 September 1994) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Larne in the Irish Premiership. Ryan began his career with Hamilton Academical, before moving on to Forfar Athletic and subsequently playing with Airdrieonians, Dunfermline Athletic, and Stirling Albion. He has also spent periods on loan with Brechin City and Arbroath.
