Andrew Gittis
Andrew Gittis (born November 2, 1998) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. He is currently the second of the Alberta Golden Bears men's curling team in university curling and on the World Curling Tour. Gittis is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, and is now living in Canada full-time. Curling career Gittis began his curling career in Pennsylvania where he learned to curl. He represented Massachusetts at the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships, finishing in 7th place. The next year, Gittis reached the 2017 USA Junior Curling nationals and the 2017 USA U18 Curling Nationals where his team won the bronze medal, and he won the sportsmanship award as voted on by fellow curlers. Around the same time, he got the opportunity to meet Brendan Bottcher who discovered that Gittis was also a Canadian Citizen and asked him to consider attending to the University of Alberta and trying out for their curling team. Alberta Golden Bears Players

The Avonair Cash Spiel is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the Avonair Curling Club in Edmonton, Alberta. The tournament is held in a round robin format. 2020 Canadian Junior Curling Championships
The 2020 New Holland Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held from January 18 to 26 at the Langley Curling Centre and the George Preston Recreation Centre in Langley, British Columbia. The winners represented Canada at the 2020 World Junior Curling Championships in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. In the women's final, Mackenzie Zacharias and her rink of Karlee Burgess, Emily Zacharias and Lauren Lenentine out of the Altona Curling Club in Altona, Manitoba capped off a perfect 11–0 record defeating Alberta's Abby Marks rink 10–3 including a score of four in the eighth end. It was a third championship win for Burgess as she also won the title in 2016 and 2018. Karsten Sturmay
Karsten Sturmay (born November 7, 1996 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian curler originally from Leduc, Alberta. He is formerly the skip of the Alberta Golden Bears men's curling team in university curling and on the World Curling Tour. Curling career As a junior curler, Sturmay won three provincial junior championships, in 2015, 2016 and 2018. At the 2015 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Sturmay led his Alberta rink of Tristan Steinke, Brett Winfield and Mac Lenton to a 7-3 record before losing to Quebec in a tie-breaker match, missing the playoffs. At the 2016 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he led his team of Steinke, Christopher Kennedy and Caleb Boorse to a 6-4 record, missing the playoffs. 2020 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships
The 2020 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships were held from March 11 to 15, 2020 at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The winning teams on both the men's and women's sides will also represent Canada at the 2021 Winter Universiade in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks skipped by Matthew Hall won the men's division, defeating the Dalhousie Tigers skipped by Matthew Manuel in the final. The team from the Wilfrid Laurier University went a perfect 9–0 throughout the tournament.
