Andres Allan
Andres-Allan Ellmann (born Andres-Allan Kurvits, better known by his pseudonym Andres Allan; 24 September 1965 – 22 July 1988) was an Estonian poet. Life Andres Allan was born in Tallinn. He was the younger brother of artist . He attended primary school at Tallinn Secondary School No. 7 (now, Tallinn English College) and secondary school at Tallinn Secondary School No. 2 (now, Tallinn Secondary School of Science), graduating in 1983. After secondary school, he studied at the Institute of Theology of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. Andres Allan wrote poetry with a mystical-religious connotation. His poems have been published in the newspaper ''Edasi'' and in the magazines ''Vikerkaar'', '' Kultuur ja Elu'', '' Looming'', ''Marm'', and ''Noorus''. He died after a fall from balcony in Tallinn in 1988, aged 22. It is uncertain whether the fall was a suicide or an accident. He was buried in Pärnamäe Cemetery in Tallinn. Andres Kollist (born 30 January 1948 in Tartu) is an Estonian chemist, librarian, politician and activist. In 1971 he graduated from Tartu State University in chemistry. After graduating he worked at Estonian SSR Academy of Sciences. His main field of research has been polygalactanes in red algae. 1989-1993 and since 2008 he is a member of Tallinn City Council. 1995-2000 he was the CEO of Citizenship and Migration Board. 2000-2001 he was the rector of Audentes Higher Business School (). Andres Ilmar Kasekamp (born 7 December 1966 in Toronto) is the director of the Estonian Foreign Policy Institute ( :et) (since 2000) and Professor of Baltic Politics at the University of Tartu, Estonia (since 2004). Andres Kasekamp served as chairman of the Board of the Open Estonia Foundation from 2004 to 2008. His main research interests are extreme-right movements and contemporary Baltic history. Andres Herkel
Andres Herkel (born 14 August 1962) is an Estonian politician. He started his public activities in the late 1980s. From the very beginning of the independence movement in Estonia, he affiliated himself with pro-independence forces, which had close ties with Soviet-era dissidents. He played an active role in building up free media in then occupied Estonia, being among the founders of the Independent Info Centre in 1988. He was the leader of the Estonian Free Party. Education and training His alma mater is the University of Tartu, where he obtained a first degree in psychology (cum laude, 1985) and an M.A. degree in history (1998, thesis on ancient Indian philosophy). Andres Ehin
Andres Ehin (14 March 1940 – 10 December 2011) was an Estonian writer and translator. In 1964 he graduated from University of Tartu, studying Estonian philology (especially Finno-Ugric studies). From 1972 to 1974 he was the senior scientific editor of Estonian Soviet Encyclopaedia. From 1972 he was a member of Estonian Writers' Union. From 1968 to 1989 he was a member of Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Communist Party. In 1990 he joined Estonian Social Democratic Party. He married Ly Seppel (Ehin). Their daughter is poet Kristiina Ehin. He died in 2011 and was buried in Pärnamäe Cemetery in Tallinn.
