Andrejs Everitt
Andrejs Everitt (born 13 March 1989) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs, Sydney Swans and Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the younger brother of former , and Sydney player Peter Everitt. Everitt was picked in the 2006 AFL Draft at pick 11 from the Dandenong Stingrays. At the end of the 2007 AFL season, Andrejs was given Chris Grant's old No. 3 guernsey on Grant's insistence, although the club had contemplated retiring the number. Andrejs Osokinsis a Latvian pianist. He is laureate of several piano competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv, the Long-Thibaud International Competition in Paris, the Leeds International Piano Competition and the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition in Brussels. In April 2015 he became the Audience Awardee of the 5th International German Piano Award presented by International Piano Forum. Andrejs Pumpurs
Andrejs Pumpurs ( on the left bank of the Daugava, in Lieljumprava civil parish, now Birzgale Parish – in Riga) was a poet who penned the Latvian epic Lāčplēsis (''The Bear Slayer'', first published in 1888) and a prominent figure in the Young Latvia movement. Working in the land before volunteering to fight in Serbia against the Ottoman Empire in 1876, he became a loyal officer in the Russian army and also a staunch promoter of the Latvian culture. Biography Growing up on both banks of the Daugava river, he was one of three children from the civil parish chosen by the Lutheran minister for the German class of the church school in Lielvārde. Andrejs Rubins (26 November 1978 – 1 August 2022) was a Latvian professional footballer who played as a left midfielder. He was a member of the Latvia national team. Rubins worked as a football manager. Club career Born in Riga, Rubins started his career in 1996 at FK Auda in the Latvian 2nd Division. The following year he moved to Sweden with Östers IF, where he made 11 league appearances before moving back to Latvia in 1998 to play for Skonto Riga. He played there for the next three seasons, and managed to win three consecutive league titles in a row. He also won the Latvian Cup twice. Andrejs Auzāns
Andrejs Auzāns (1871–1953) was a Latvian general and topographer. Auzāns was a major general in the Imperial Russian Army, best known for being the commander of the 7th Bauska Rifleman Regiment and the 2nd Rifleman Brigade. He also served as the chief of the Russian General Staff Topographical Section for the Red Army. Early life Andrejs Auzāns was born on April 4, 1872, in Pļaviņu parish, in the ''Bormaņi'' homestead. He studied in a parish school in Koknese and Vietalva. In 1893, he graduated from a school in the city of Pskov, Russia as a land surveyor. Life until the First World War After graduating from school, Auzāns enlisted in a military topography school from which he graduated in 1895. Andrejs Butriks (born 20 December 1982 in Riga) is a former Latvian football forward, currently the sporting director of FK Ventspils in the Latvian Higher League. Club career Butriks played for FK Avots at youth level before signing for FK Ventspils in 2001. In 2002, he scored 14 goals in 24 games for the club, becoming a vital first eleven player in the next few years. Butriks played for FK Ventspils, until 2011, scoring more than 50 goals in 212 matches. While playing for Ventspils, in January 2008 Butriks had a trial period with Football League Championship club Blackpool in England, but didn't stay with the club. Andrejs Perepļotkins ( uk, Андрій Ігорович Перепльоткін, ''Andriy Igorovych Pereplyotkin''; born 27 December 1984) is a Ukrainian born Latvian footballer, who plays primarily as a right winger for SK Super Nova. Although born in Ukraine, he played internationally for Latvia from 2007 to 2012. Andrejs Gražulis (born 21 July 1993) is a professional Latvian basketball player for Dolomiti Energia Trento of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). Early career Andrejs Gražulis started playing organized basketball at age of 16. In 2009, Gražulis was discovered as a basketball player during open try-outs held by BK Ventspils during time when he was in high-school and his primary sport was athletics. Andrejs Pavlovs (born 22 February 1979) is a Latvian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Pavlovs started his professional career at Policija Rīga. In 2001, he joined Skonto Rīga, but was mostly back-up for Andrejs Piedels during his four years at club. In 2005 Pavlovs signed a contract at FK Rīga. Andrejs Grants (born March 7, 1955) is a Latvian photographer and teacher. He studied at the Latvian State University (1973–78), worked in the “Ogre” photo studio (1978–1988). From 1979 he is a teacher at the House of Technical Innovation in Riga, where he gained his reputation as an influential photography teacher of many Latvian contemporary photographers, film-makers and artists, such as Ritums Ivanovs, Arnis Balčus and Gints Bērziņš. At "Ogre" photo studio he formed an informal group "A" with photographers Inta Ruka, Valts Kleins and Gvido Kajons.
