Andrea Thome
Andrea Thome is a Chilean and Costa Rican playwright born in Madison, Wisconsin. Her plays have been performed at venues all over the United States, and she is founder and co-director of the Fulana media project. Biography Andrea Thome's mother is from Chile and her father is from Costa Rica and the United States. She considers herself Pan-American and believes that this permeates into her writing. Thome also found inspiration from the works of fellow Chilean writer Gabriela Mistral, the first Nobel Prize winner from Chile. Thome obtained her Bachelor’s from Harvard University in Literature and Drama & History in the Americas. She went on to the NYU Tisch School of the Arts to earn her Masters in Dramatic Writing. Career Thome is known in the United States and Latin America for her plays and translations. Thome spent five years at Red River Theater in San Francisco, where she co-created 22 pieces. Lark Play Development Center
The Lark, formerly Lark Play Development Center, was a non-profit organization, headquartered in Manhattan, New York that sought to help discover and develop playwrights. It announced its closing in October, 2021. History The Lark was founded in 1994 by John Clinton Eisner with the stated mission of "discover(ing) and develop(ing) new voices for the American theater." Originally, they produced plays but in 1997 the company stopped producing classic works or touring in schools, focusing instead on supporting playwrights as they develop their works. New York University
New York University (NYU) is a private research university in New York City. Chartered in 1831 by the New York State Legislature, NYU was founded by a group of New Yorkers led by then-Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin.
