Andrea Rydin Berge
Andrea Rydin Berge (born 26 April 1984 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (vocals, piano and autoharp), composer and band leader, known from her own Andrea Kvintett. Career Berge has a background from music studies at the University of Oslo and Complete Vocal Institute while the other quintet members, Svein Magnus Furu (tenor saxophone and clarinet), Harald Lassen (tenor saxophone), Kim-Erik Pedersen (alto and baritone saxophones) and Christian Meaas Svendsen (upright bass), have experience from the Norwegian Academy of Music. All belong to the "young and very promising" generation that is starting to pave their way into the established, professional Norwegian jazz scene with big steps. The arrangements is by Berge and the band, and since she is also co-producer, there is not much doubt about who is the driving force in the band. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The Norwegian Academy of Music (Norwegian: ''Norges musikkhøgskole'', NMH) is a university-level music conservatory located in Oslo, Norway, in the neighbourhood of Majorstuen, Frogner. It is the largest music academy in Norway and offers the country's highest level of music education. Christian Meaas Svendsen
Christian Meaas Svendsen (born 26 February 1988) is a Norwegian jazz bassist. He has worked with Nakama, Paal Nilssen-Love Large Unit, Mopti, Momentum, Aksiom, Ayumi Tanaka Trio and Duplex. He runs Nakama Records. Career Svendsen started his jazz career within Kongsberg Big Band, was a year at Toneheim folkehøgskole and later studied Performing jazz music at the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) in Oslo where he did a bachelor in both jazz/improv and classical music. During his years at NMH he studied under Bjørn Kjellemyr and Dan Styffe. He also exchanged to Cologne where he studied under Dieter Manderscheid, Sebastian Gramss and Dietmar Fuhr. In 2007 he was awarded Kongsberg Jazzfestival's talent scholarship.
