Andrea Montanari (born 10 August 1965) is a retired Italy, Italian sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres. He won one medal, at senior level, at the International athletics championships and games, International athletics competitions. Biography He finished fourth in the 1990 European Championships in Athletics - Men's 4 x 400 metres relay, 4x400 m relay at the 1990 European Championships in Athletics, 1990 European Championships, with teammates Vito Petrella, Roberto Ribaud and Andrea Nuti. His personal best time is 46.16 seconds, achieved in August 1993 in Bologna. He has 14 caps in Italy national athletics team, national team from 1987 to 1993. The Italian Athletics Championships ( it, Campionati italiani assoluti di atletica leggera) are the national championships in athletics, organised every year by the Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera. The first edition, four races only, was held in 1906 at Arena Civica in Milan, just after the foundation of the Federazione Podistica Italiana and with the organization of ''La Gazzetta dello Sport''. Since then, 110 editions were held with the only exceptions of the years 1915-1918 and 1944. During 1945, only athletes of Northern Italy could participate but FIDAL considered this edition as an official one. To the running races, in 1913 the field events were added.
