Andrea Accardi (born 30 July 1995) is an Italian football player who plays for club Virtus Francavilla. Club career He made his Serie B debut for Trapani on 24 October 2015 in a game against Cagliari. Following Palermo's exclusion from the Serie B, he was released together with all other players. Following Palermo's refoundation in August 2019 as a phoenix club and its admission to Serie D, he was re-signed by the ''Rosanero'', thus becoming the only player from the past season's Serie B campaign who agreed to stay at the club. The Serie C () is the third-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie B and Serie A. The Lega Italiana Calcio Professionistico (Lega Pro) is the governing body that runs the Serie C. The unification of the Lega Pro Prima Divisione and the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione as Lega Pro Divisione Unica (often also abbreviated as ''Lega Pro'') in 2014 reintroduced the format of the original Serie C that existed between 1935 and 1978 (before the split into Serie C1 and Serie C2). The 2016–17 Lega Pro Divisione Unica was the third season of the unified Lega Pro division, the third highest division in the Italian football league system. The championship name, which is ''Divisione Unica'' according to the FIGC regulations, is nevertheless referred to as ''Lega Pro'' in official documents. The season marked the final year that the division would carry the Lega Pro name as it was changed back to Serie C for the 2017–18 season. Teams A total of 60 teams contest the league. 2015–16 Serie B
The 2015–16 Serie B (known as the Serie B ConTe.it for sponsorship reasons) was the 84th season since its establishment in 1929. A total of 22 teams contested the league: 16 returning from the 2014–15 season, 4 promoted from Lega Pro, and 2 relegated from Serie A. Vacancies created by the bankruptcy of Serie A-relegated Parma and the demotion of Catania to Lega Pro due to match fixing allowed Brescia to remain in the league despite being relegated. Furthermore, Teramo was due to participate to Serie B but due to the allegations for match-fixing, the Courts decided to relegate Teramo in the last place of Lega Pro of the previous season. After the demotion of Catania, Virtus Entella was readmitted into Serie B as the best team of the relegated teams from the previous season.
