''Ancient Artifacts'' is D.I.'s first full-length studio album, which was released in 1985. "Hang Ten in East Berlin" and "Spiritual Law" were later re-recorded on the band's second album, ''Horse Bites Dog Cries'', which was released in 1986. "O.C. Life" was later covered by Zebrahead, which was a bonus track for the Orange County OST and The Offspring as a bonus track for their '' Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace'' album. O.C. Thom Wilson
Thom Wilson (died February 8, 2015) was an American punk rock record producer and engineer. Career Wilson began his musical career in the mid-1970s, engineering recordings by soft rock artists Burton Cummings and Seals & Crofts. He began working on punk rock albums in the early 1980s while producing the Adolescents' self-titled debut album (also known as ''The Blue Album''). Throughout his career, he would also produce and engineer albums for numerous artists, such as Dead Kennedys, T.S.O.L., D.O.A., Bad Religion, The Joykiller, Social Distortion, The Vandals, The Offspring, Christian Death, Automatic 7, Face to Face and The Bouncing Souls. Wilson produced The Offspring's first three albums ''The Offspring'' (1989), ''Ignition'' (1992) and their breakthrough '' Smash'' (1994). He also produced the band's 1991 7" EP ''Baghdad''. ''Horse Bites Dog Cries'' is the second studio album by the American punk rock band D.I. It was originally released in 1986, on the label Reject. The album was recorded at Casbah Studios in Fullerton, California in 1985 with Chaz Ramirez (of Social Distortion fame). Due to a typo on the album itself, many fans believe that it was released in 1985, but this appears to be false because its release was delayed until 1986 to avoid confusion with the band's then-current album ''Ancient Artifacts''. ''Horse Bites Dog Cries'' was the final album featuring the Agnew brothers ( Rikk and Alfie) and drummer John Knight (until his return on 1994's '' State of Shock''). Zebrahead
Zebrahead is an American rap-punk band from La Habra, California. Formed in 1996, the band has released thirteen studio albums to date. History 1996–2001: Formation and early years Zebrahead was formed in La Habra, California in summer 1996 by guitarist Greg Bergdorf and drummer Ed Udhus, (both formerly of the band 409), bassist Ben Osmundson (formerly of 3-Ply) and singer/rhythm guitarist Justin Mauriello (formerly of Once There). The Offspring
The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band's current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and bassist Todd Morse. Over the course of their -year career, The Offspring have released 10 studio albums and have also experienced a number of lineup changes, most notably with their drummer. Their longest-serving drummer was Ron Welty, who replaced original drummer James Lilja in 1987 and stayed with The Offspring for 16 years. Richard Francis "Rikk" Agnew Jr. (born December 9, 1958) is an American musician with a career spanning more than 40 years. He has previously been a member of some of the most influential bands of the Orange County hardcore punk genre, as well as the influential deathrock band Christian Death. During his years with the Adolescents, Agnew became known as one of the best guitarists in the Southern California hardcore punk scene. Agnew has also pursued a solo career and released his debut studio album, ''All by Myself'', in 1982. He later released ''Emotional Vomit'' in 1990 and ''Turtle'' in 1992. Adolescents (band)
The Adolescents are an American punk rock band formed in Fullerton, California in 1980. Part of the hardcore punk movement in southern California in the early 1980s, they were one of the main punk acts to emerge from Orange County, along with their peers in Agent Orange and Social Distortion. Founding bassist Steve Soto was the sole constant member of the band since its inception until his 2018 death, with singer Tony Reflex being in the group for all but one album. During the 1980s the band went through several lineup changes, breakups, and reunions, most involving drummer Casey Royer and guitarist brothers Rikk, Frank, and Alfie Agnew. During that decade, they released three albums: ''Adolescents'' (1981), '' Brats in Battalions'' (1987), and '' Balboa Fun*Zone'' (1988, without Reflex), then broke up in April 1989. ''All by Myself'' is the debut solo studio album by the American multi-instrumentalist Rikk Agnew. It was originally released in October 1982, on the label Frontier. It was produced by Agnew, and co-produced by the then-Adolescents producer Thom Wilson. Agnew played all the instruments on the album. The band D.I., which Agnew joined in 1983, included cover versions of the songs "O.C. Life", and "Falling Out" from this album for their debut album, ''Ancient Artifacts'', which was released in 1985. Casey Royer
Casey A. Royer, (born October 8, 1958), is an American musician. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Royer is best known as the lead vocalist for Southern Californian punk rock band D.I. and as a drummer for the Adolescents. Early years Casey A. Royer was born on October 8, 1958. Royer attended Troy High School, and began playing music with friends in the neighborhoods of Fullerton and Placentia, California. A shifting group of friends formed bands and played at parties and other gigs during their high school years. Career Royer began playing the drums professionally in 1978 at the age of 20, as an early member of Social Distortion with Mike Ness, composing the group's early lyrics with occasional help from original lead vocalist Tom Corvin.
