Anastasia Vedyakova
Anastasia Vedyakova (born 1991) is a violinist, composer and conductor. She is the Soloist of the Philharmonic, member of BMI, the National Union of Composers, the Boston New Music Initiative, the Recordig Academy, International Society for Jazz Arrangers and Composers, the International Association for Music and Medicine. She is the only Russian holder of the Elgar Medal. She's the winner and nominee for more than 35 international music awards as a violinist, composer, conductor and singer-songwriter, also the Grammys balloted artist. Life Vedyakova was born in 1991 and she began to play the violin when she was four. By 1998 she was welcomed into the Central Music School at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with Prof. E. Grach and Prof. A.Koblyakov. Rita Thyagarajan alias Sucharitha Thyagarajan (born 10 June 1984), known by the mononym Rita, is an Indian playback singer who sings in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, Kannada and Malayalam languages. Early life Rita was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She was exposed to classical music very early in life and started attending classical Carnatic music lessons at the age of five. Her mother Lalitha Thyagarajan is a veteran illustrator and artist in Chennai and also a classical veena player while her father is employed with a popular Indian daily. Colette Mourey (born 1954) is a French classical guitarist, music educator, musicologist and composer. Jay Reise (born 1950) is an American composer. Biography Reise spent his childhood surrounded by classical music and jazz, but began his composition studies with Jimmy Giuffre and Hugh Hartwell in 1970. After graduating at Hamilton College in 1972, he pursued composition study at McGill University (with Bengt Hambraeus and Bruce Mather), the University of Pennsylvania (AM, 1975; George Crumb and Richard Wernick), Tanglewood, and Carnatic music, Carnatic rhythm with Adrian L'Armand. He is currently Professor Emeritus of Music at the University of Pennsylvania.
