Anastase Gasana
Anastase Gasana (born August 5, 1950 in Gikomero, near Kigali, Rwanda) is a Rwandan political figure and diplomat. Gasana was a university professor before entering politics. Gasana was appointed as a Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Rwanda for the first time in 1993 and signed Rwanda's accords with Tutsi rebels in Arusha, Tanzania. After the Rwandan Patriotic Front under Paul Kagame had taken over the country following the Rwandan genocide, Gasana was appointed as ambassador in Washington, US, but did not take office as of November 1994, he was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs again. He continued to be a leading member of the Rwandan government for over a decade. Gasabo District
Gasabo is a district, (''akarere'') in Kigali city, the capital of Rwanda. The headquarter of Gasabo is located in Remera Sector. The district also includes large areas of the city itself, including Kacyiru, Kimironko, Remera, Nyarutarama and Kimihurura. The district is the location of the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site, the burial place of approximately 300,000 victims of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis . Tutsi
The Tutsi (), or Abatutsi (), are an ethnic group of the African Great Lakes region. They are a Bantu-speaking ethnic group and the second largest of three main ethnic groups in Rwanda and Burundi (the other two being the largest Bantu ethnic group Hutu and the Pygmy group of the Twa). Historically, the Tutsi were pastoralists and filled the ranks of the warriors' caste. Before 1962, they regulated and controlled Rwandan society, which was composed of Tutsi aristocracy and Hutu commoners, utilizing a clientship structure.
