Analysis (radio Programme)
''Analysis'' is a BBC Radio 4 current affairs programme which has been running for more than 50 years, and is currently broadcast in a half-hour format. History It began in April 1970. The first presenter was Ian McIntyre, who later became Controller of Radio 4 from 1976–78 and of Radio 3 from 1978–87; he left the programme in 1976. Mark Laity was a senior producer from 1986–88. Caroline Thomson (Chief Operating officer of the BBC since 2007) produced during 1978–81. Content Its aim is to examine "the ideas and forces which shape public policy in Britain and abroad", and it covers various topics by means of interviews with academics and experts. It takes an investigative journalism style and applies this to more global and strategic topics, at national and international levels, looking at the big picture. The BBC World Service is an international broadcasting, international broadcaster owned and operated by the BBC, with funding from the Government of the United Kingdom, British Government through the Foreign Secretary, Foreign Secretary's office. Kenan Malik (born 26 January 1960) is an Indian-born British writer, lecturer and broadcaster, trained in neurobiology and the history of science. As an academic author, his focus is on the philosophy of biology, and contemporary theories of multiculturalism, Pluralism (political philosophy), pluralism and Race (classification of human beings), race. Frances Cairncross
Dame Frances Anne Cairncross, (born 30 August 1944 in Otley, England) is a British economist, journalist and academic. She is a senior fellow at the School of Public Policy, UCLA. Peter John Hennessy, Baron Hennessy of Nympsfield, (born 28 March 1947) is an English historian and academic specialising in the history of government. Since 1992, he has been Attlee Professor of Contemporary British History at Queen Mary University of London. Early life Hennessy was born in Edmonton, north London, the youngest child of William G. Hennessy by his marriage to Edith (Wood-Johnson) Hennessy. He comes from a large Catholic family of Irish provenance. He was brought up in large houses, requisitioned by the council, first in Allandale Avenue and then in Lyndhurst Gardens, Finchley, north London.
