''Ammaiyappan'' is a 1954 Indian Tamil-language film written by M. Karunanidhi and directed by A. Bhimsingh in his directorial debut. The film stars S. S. Rajendran, G. Sakunthala and S. Varalakshmi. Tamil (; ' , ) is a Dravidian language natively spoken by the Tamil people of South Asia. Joseph Thaliath Jr
Joseph Thaliath Jr. was an Indian film director and producer. Early life Hailing from a Christian family, he was the son of a High Court Judge in Thiruvananthapuram when it was known as Trivandrum in the Princely State of Travancore before independence. After completing his degree, he developed a flair for cinema and, much against his father's wishes, went to Madras (now Chennai) and worked as an assistant to a multi lingual film director called S. Soundararajan (S. Soundararaja Aiyengar, owner of the Tamil Nadu Talkies Laboratory.). Career F. Nagoor was an art director, film producer and a partner of Newtone studios in Chennai. Joseph Thaliath Jr. joined him as a partner. With the help of F. Nagoor, he launched a new film company named Citadel Film Corporation. Suratha ( ta, சுரதா) (23 November 1921 – 20 June 2006) was a Tamil poet, known for his similes. He was called "Uvamai Kavignar" ("poet of comparisons"). Early life Suratha was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu as T. Rajagopal on 23 November 1921. He derived his pen name from Subburathnadasan (Bharathidasan, a poet of yesteryear). Madabhushi Rangadorai (born 8 November 1937), better known by his pen name Randor Guy, is an Indian lawyer, columnist and film and legal historian associated with the English language newspaper ''The Hindu''.
