Amira Edrahi
Amira Edrahi ( ar, أميرة ادراحي; born October 15, 1986) is a Libyan swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Career Edrahi qualified for the women's 50 m freestyle at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by receiving a Universality place from FINA, in an entry time of 39.00. At the 2004 Olympics, she participated in heat one against two other swimmers Doli Akhter of Bangladesh and Monika Bakale of Congo. She posted a lifetime best of 34.67 to finish last in a small field of three by nearly four seconds behind winner Akhter. Edrahi failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed seventy-second overall out of 75 swimmers on the last day of preliminaries. The women's 50 metre freestyle event at the 2004 Olympic Games was contested at the Olympic Aquatic Centre of the Athens Olympic Sports Complex in Athens, Greece on August 20 and 21. Dutch swimmer and world record holder Inge de Bruijn managed to defend her title in this event, outside her record time of 24.58 seconds. Doli Akhter, born 15 January 1986, is an Olympic swimmer from Bangladesh. She has swum for Bangladesh at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics. On all three occasions, she attended thanks to a wild card qualification. She competed in the 100m breaststroke in Sydney (2000), where she was disqualified.
