Amat Antono
Amat Antono (born 5 October 1958) is an Indonesian politician who served as the regent of Pekalongan Regency, Central Java for two terms, 2001–2006 and 2011–2016. Initially elected as regent of his home regency through a legislative vote, he lost in its first direct election to his deputy Siti Qomariyah before defeating her in 2011. Background Amat Antono was born in Tegaldowo village, Tirto subdistrict, Pekalongan Regency on 5 October 1958. He graduated from Diponegoro University with a bachelor's degree in 1984, and later a master's degree in 2006. His wife Arini Harimurti was elected as vice regent in the 2016 local election. The couple has two children. Career Before entering politics, Antono was a bureaucrat, working in the transmigration body at West Kalimantan's Sambas Regency. Pekalongan Regency
Pekalongan Regency is a regency ( id, kabupaten) on the north coast of Central Java province in Indonesia. It covers an area of 836.13 km2 and had a population of 838,621 at the 2010 censusBiro Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2011. and 968,821 at the 2020 census, comprising 491,607 males and 477,214 females. Its administrative centre was formerly at Pekalongan City, but since that city was administratively separated from the regency, the regency's capital is now at Kajen, which is located in the middle of the regency, about 25 km south of Pekalongan City. Tegal Regency
Tegal Regency is one of the regencies in the northwest part of Central Java province of Indonesia, with an area of . The administrative center used to be in Tegal City, in the northwest corner of the regency, but then Tegal City was administratively separated from the regency and formed into its own territory. Siti Qomariyah (born 8 July 1967) is an Indonesian academician and politician who served as the regent of Pekalongan, Central Java between 2006 and 2011. Born in Pekalongan into a family with strong santri and kyai connections, she started out as an academician before entering politics in 2001 as her home regency's vice-regent. She then became the first directly-elected regent of Pekalongan in 2006, but lost her reelection campaign in 2011.
