Amar Deep (1958 Film)
''Amar Deep'' () is a 1958 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by T. Prakash Rao, under Sivaji Productions. The film stars Dev Anand, Vyjayanthimala, Padmini, Ragini, Johnny Walker, Pran, Om Prakash. The film's music was composed by C. Ramchandra. It is a remake of 1956 Tamil movie '' Amara Deepam'' which itself was a remake of the 1942 English-language film ''Random Harvest'' which had earlier been adapted in Bengali as ''Harano Sur'' (1957). ''Amara Deepam'' () is a 1956 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by T. Prakash Rao. A remake of the 1942 American film ''Random Harvest (film), Random Harvest'', it stars Sivaji Ganesan, Savitri (actress), Savitri and Padmini (actress), Padmini. The film, produced by Venus Pictures, was released on 29 June 1956. It was remade in Hindi as ''Amardeep (1958 film), Amardeep'' (1958). Plot Aruna is a girl from a wealthy family. Her parents want her to marry her cousin Sukumar. She, however, does not like him because of his dictatorial behaviour. He even breaks her radio, which convinces Aruna that he is certainly not the person for her. She leaves the house one night without informing anyone to escape from the marriage. Bipin Gupta
Bipin Gupta (21 August 1905 – 9 September 1981) was an Indian actor and artist during the 1930s and 1960s. He acted in Bengali and Hindi cinema, most notably in ''Baiju Bawra'' (1952), ''Jagriti'' (1954), ''Gharana'' (1961) and '' Khilona'' (1970). Early life Gupta was born to a Bengali family on 21 August 1905 in Meerut, the 5th child of his parents Trailokya Nath Gupta and Khemankari Devi. They later moved to Barrackpore. He attended the Chinsura Training School and the Barrackpore Government High School. He was married to Annapurna Devi. Career Gupta's first Bengali film was ''Chokher Bali'', directed by Sotu Sen in 1938. Throughout his career, he had worked on almost 300 films, though he only played hero once, in the film ''Noori''. Prabodh Chandra Dey (May 1, 1919 − October 24, 2013), known by his stage name Manna Dey, was an internationally acclaimed and celebrated Indian playback singer, music director, and a musician. Rajinder Krishan
Rajinder Krishan Duggal (6 June 1919 – 23 September 1987) also credited as Rajendra Krishan, was an Indian poet, lyricist and screenwriter. Biography Rajinder Krishan was born in a Duggal family at Jalalpur Jattan on 6 June 1919, in Gujrat District (in present-day Pakistan). Even when he was studying in the eighth class he was attracted towards poetry. In his early work life he had a clerk's job in the municipal office in Simla, where he toiled up to 1942. During that period, he read eastern and western authors extensively and wrote poetry. He expresses his indebtedness to the Urdu poetry of Firaq Gorakhpuri and Ahsan Danish, as well as to the Hindi poems of Pant and Nirala. Randhir (actor)
Randhir was an Indian character actor in Hindi and Punjabi films who was active from the 1940s to the 1980s. He appeared in over 172 films. Originally, he played side heroes or the friend of the hero. On a few occasions, he even played the hero. One of his most famous hero's friend roles was in ''Dil Deke Dekho'' (1959). The 1960s was a period of transition. Due to his age and displacement from hero's friend roles by comedians, Randhir began to experiment with character roles. He had done such roles in the 1950s and 1940s as well. In the mid-1960s, he frequently played Maharajas in costume films. Randhir began adopting the moneylender 'lala' role around the end of the 1960s. His role in ''Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi'' (1967) may be one of his earliest in this form, but it was a rough exhibition of what was to come.
