Amanda Brown (born October 6, 1970) is an American novelist who wrote the novel ''Legally Blonde'' which was the basis for the 2001 film and 2007 musical of the same name. Biography Amanda Brown was born in Phoenix, Arizona as the youngest of four siblings to Jack E. Brown, a lawyer, and Suzanne J. Brown, an art gallery owner. Brown graduated from Arizona State University in 1993. She then proceeded to study at Stanford Law School (never actually receiving a J.D. degree), where she compiled funny letters and stories based on her experiences into a first manuscript that would become the novel ''Legally Blonde'' (published 2001). Amanda Gabrielle Brown (born 17 November 1965) is an Australian composer, classically trained musician, singer and songwriter known for her role as the violinist of the band The Go-Betweens and more recently a session musician and soundtrack composer. Career 1980s Brown's early bands during the early 1980s were Climbing Frame, Tender Mercies (with John Willsteed, also later with The Go-Betweens) and Blood Brothers, in which she played violin, oboe, guitar and keyboards. In 1986, The Go-Betweens – soon after signing a new contract (this time with Beggars Banquet) – discovered Amanda Brown playing live in a café. Amanda Brown (born 2 May 1965) is a former professional British tennis player who reached the second round of Wimbledon (on two occasions) and the Australian Open, as well as competing for Great Britain at the 1984 Olympics and the 1984 Federation Cup. As a junior, she twice won the junior title at the Australian Open, in 1982 and 1983. She played her first matches on the WTA tour in November 1982 and her final matches at Wimbledon in 1986. Early life Amanda Leah Brown was born on June 4, in the Bronx, New York, the oldest of three children. She is Puerto-Rican/Jamaican.
