Amana High School
Amana High School was a senior high school in Middle Amana, in the Amana Colonies area of Iowa, United States. It was created in 1935, when residents voted in favor for a bond to establish a high school in two adjacent structures: a brick school building and an adjacent residential building. A 400-seat auditorium was built in the summer of 1935; this fused the two buildings together. A second floor was also added. The bond had a cost of $16,500 ($ adjusted for inflation).Hoehnle, Peter. Middle Amana, Iowa
Middle Amana is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Iowa County, Iowa, United States. It is the largest of the seven villages of the Amana Colonies, all designated as a National Historic Landmark. As of the 2010 Census, the population of Middle Amana was 581. Geography Middle Amana is in northeastern Iowa County, on the north side of the valley of the Iowa River. It is west of Amana and east of High Amana. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Middle Amana CDP has an area of , all land. Amana Colonies
The Amana Colonies are seven villages on located in Iowa County in east-central Iowa, United States: Amana (or Main Amana, German: ''Haupt-Amana''), East Amana, High Amana, Middle Amana, South Amana, West Amana, and Homestead. The villages were built and settled by German Radical Pietists, who were persecuted in their homeland by the German state government and the Lutheran Church. Calling themselves the True Inspiration Congregations (german: Wahre Inspirations-Gemeinden),Reprinted: they first settled in New York near Buffalo in what is now the town of West Seneca. However, seeking more isolated surroundings, they moved to Iowa (near present-day Iowa City) in 1856. They lived a communal life until 1932. Clear Creek–Amana High School
Clear Creek Amana High School, or CCA High School, is a public senior high school in Tiffin, Iowa and a part of the Clear Creek–Amana Community School District. It serves the entire district. A Clipper Ship is the school mascot. The school will receive an addition as part of a bond program. History The school was formed after the Clear Creek Community School District and the Amana Community School District entered into a whole grade sharing arrangement, consolidating Clear Creek High School and Amana High School. Its initial enrollment was 210, with 60 being in the 9th grade. 10 total students originated from outside the Clear Creek and Amana districts (from the previous year) and 50 total previously attended Amana High School.
