Aman Ali ( ur, امان علی; born March 27, 1985) is an American comedian, storyteller, journalist, and writer of Indian descent. Early life Ali was born on March 27, 1985, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, United States; into an immigrant Indian Muslim family. He attended Gahanna Lincoln High School. In 2006, he graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. His parents are from India. His father first came to the United States in the 1960s, his mother came to the United States in the 1970s. He has four brothers. Ali's father went to college in India, majoring in civil engineering intending to design bridges and roads. He came to America to find better opportunities. Reynoldsburg is a city in Fairfield, Franklin, and Licking counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is a suburban community in the Columbus, Ohio metropolitan area. The population was 41,076 at the 2020 census. History Reynoldsburg was originally called Frenchtown, and under the latter name was platted in 1831 by John French, and named for him. Bassam Tariq (born October 22, 1986) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter born in Karachi, Pakistan. He co-directed and produced the Sundance-funded documentary '' These Birds Walk'' (2013) with Omar Mullick, and he was named in ''Filmmaker''s "25 New Faces of Independent Film" in 2012. Tariq's works aim to uncover the diversity of Muslim life and experience. In addition to filmmaking, his diverse projects include blogging and writing, co-founding a halal butcher shop, and being a TED fellow. Tariq lives in New York City with his wife and son.
