Amalapuram Revenue Division
Amalapuram revenue division (or Amalapuram division) is an administrative division in the Konaseema district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the three revenue divisions in the district which consists of ten mandals under its administration. Amalapuram is the divisional headquarters. Konaseema District
Konaseema district, officially known as Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, is a district in Coastal Andhra between the tributaries of the Godavari river in the Konaseema region in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It was carved out of East Godavari district on 4 April 2022 by the Andhra Pradesh government. Amalapuram is the district headquarters and the largest city in the disctrict, which is named after B. R. Ambedkar. Geography Konaseema is located in the delta of the Godavari river. It is largely agricultural in nature, with lush green paddy fields. There are some Mangrove forests in the northeast of the district. It lies in between the two branches of Godavari river. Amalapuram
Amalapuram is a town in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the district headquarters and the largest town of Konaseema district. It is the mandal and divisional headquarters of Amalapuram mandal and Amalapuram revenue division respectively. The town is situated in the delta of konaseema. History Amalapuram was originally named Amlipuri. Some of its temples are dedicated to Amaleswarudu. Amalapuram is also called Panchalingapuram as it is the seat of five temples to Shiva as Amaleswarudu, Sidheswarudu, Ramalingeswarudu, Chandramouleeswarudu and Chennamalleeswarudu.
