Alyaksandr Karnitsky
Alyaksandr Ivanavich Karnitsky ( be, Аляксандр Iванавiч Карнiцкi; russian: Александр Иванович Карницкий; born 14 February 1989) is a Belarusian professional footballer who plays for Hungarian side Mezőkövesd. His positions are central midfielder and defensive midfielder. Club career He came off the bench as FC Tosno won the 2017–18 Russian Cup final against FC Avangard Kursk on 9 May 2018 in the Volgograd Arena. Stowbtsy ( be, Стоўбцы, ''Stoŭbcy'', ) or Stolbtsy ( rus, Столбцы, , stɐlˈptsɨ; pl, Stołpce; yi, סטויבץ ''Steibtz'', lt, Stolpcai) is a town in Minsk Region, Belarus, the administrative center of the Stowbtsy District. It is located at the Neman River. The population is approximately 15,400. Name origin "Stowbtsy" means "columns" or "posts" in Belarusian. A suggested version for the name origin: once the Neman River was very deep, and sailing boats had to be tied to wooden posts to secure the boats against a strong flow of the river. History The city was founded in 1593. For a long time it was a ''shtetl'' with significant Jewish population. The 2017–18 Russian Cup was the 26th season of the Russian football knockout tournament since the dissolution of Soviet Union. The competition started on 14 July 2017 and finished on 9 May 2018. The 2015 Belarusian Premier League was the 25th season of top-tier football in Belarus. It began on 10 April 2015 and ended on 8 November 2015. BATE Borisov were the defending champions, having won their 11th league title last year, and secured a 12th. The Belarusian Premier League or the Vyšejšaja Liha or the Vysheyshaya Liga ( be, Вышэйшая ліга, russian: Высшая лига, "Top League") is the top division of professional football in Belarus, and is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation. The number of teams in the competition has varied over the years from as high as 17 (1992–93 season) to as low as 11 (2012). As of 2016, the league included 16 teams. Each team plays every other team twice during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the two teams with the fewest points are automatically relegated to the Belarusian First League, while the third worst team plays a promotion-relegation playoff against the third best team from the second tier. The top two teams from the Belarusian First League automatically win promotion to the Premier League. The 2013 Belarusian Premier League was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Belarus. It began in April 2013 and ended in November 2013. BATE Borisov are the defending champions, having won their 9th league title the previous year. Format change Starting with this season, the league will be played in two phases. The first phase will consist of a regular double-round robin tournament between 12 teams. The best six teams will qualify for the championship round, which will determine the champions and the participants for the 2014–15 European competitions. Team changes from 2011 season The winners of last season ( Slavia Mozyr) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by last-placed team of 2011 Belarusian Premier League table (Dnepr Mogilev). The runners-up of last season (Partizan Minsk) won the promotion/relegation play-off against Vitebsk (11th-placed Premier League team). The Belarusian First League is the second tier of professional football in Belarus. It was created in 1992, following the Belarusian independence. History and format The typical format of the league involves 16 clubs playing a double round-robin tournament over 30 matchdays (with the exception of shortened 1992 and 1995 seasons, which were a single round-robin tournaments). Team changes from 2008 season The winners of last season (Minsk) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. Due to reduction of Premier League, the promoted team was replaced by three teams that finished at the bottom of 2008 Belarusian Premier League table ( Lokomotiv Minsk, Savit Mogilev and Darida Minsk Raion).
