2012 Belarusian First League
The 2012 Belarusian First League is the 22nd season of 2nd level football in Belarus. It started in April and finished in November 2012. Team changes from 2011 season The winners of last season ( Slavia Mozyr) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by last-placed team of 2011 Belarusian Premier League table (Dnepr Mogilev). The runners-up of last season (Partizan Minsk) won the promotion/relegation play-off against Vitebsk (11th-placed Premier League team). Partizan Minsk were thus promoted to Premier League and replaced in the First League by Vitebsk. Two teams that finished at the bottom of 2011 season table ( Belcard Grodno and Baranovichi) relegated to the Second League. They were replaced by two best teams of 2011 Second League ( Bereza-2010 and Lida). Klechesk Kletsk withdrew from the league due to lack of financing and joined Second League. Belarusian First League
The Belarusian First League is the second tier of professional football in Belarus. It was created in 1992, following the Belarusian independence. History and format The typical format of the league involves 16 clubs playing a double round-robin tournament over 30 matchdays (with the exception of shortened 1992 and 1995 seasons, which were a single round-robin tournaments). On several occasions the number of participating teams was smaller (15 or 14), due to last minute withdrawals and no teams available for replacement. In most of the seasons, two best teams are getting promoted to Belarusian Premier League, while two worst teams are relegated Belarusian Second League. FC Vitebsk
FC Vitebsk ( be, ФК Віцебск, FK Viciebsk, russian: ФК Витебск) is a Belarusian football club based in Vitebsk. The club plays in the Belarusian Premier League, the top division in Belarusian football. Their home stadium is Vitebsky Central Sport Complex. History The club was founded in 1960 as Krasnoye Znamya Vitebsk (''Red Flag Vitebsk''). They began playing in Soviet Class B (second-tier league) the same year. After three seasons, they relegated to the third tier. Vitebsk team would spend almost all of their subsequent Soviet-era seasons playing at the third level (Soviet Second League), with the exception of 1970 and 1990, when the team dropped to 4th level. The club went through several name changes. In 1963, they were renamed Dvina Vitebsk after local river. Vitebsk or Viciebsk (russian: Витебск, ; be, Ві́цебск, ; , ''Vitebsk'', lt, Vitebskas, pl, Witebsk), is a city in Belarus. FC Gorodeya
FC Gorodeya (, ''FK Haradzeya'') was a Belarusian football club based in Gorodeya, Nesvizh Raion, Minsk Oblast. History The team was founded in 2004 as a futsal club. They played in the Minsk Oblast championship and later in the Belarusian futsal championship and Cup. In 2007, they debuted in the Minsk Oblast football championship as well as the Belarusian Cup. In 2008, they joined the Belarusian Second League, and after winning the 2010 season, the team made its debut in the First League in 2011. In 2016, Gorodeya made its debut in the Belarusian Premier League. In spring 2021 the club was disbanded. FC Rechitsa-2014 () was a Belarusian football club based in Rechytsa. History The club was founded in 1952 as Krasnaya Zvezda Rechitsa (''Red Star'') and spent Soviet years playing in the Belarusian SSR league or in lower regional leagues. In 1960, they became Dneprovets Rechitsa, then Dnepr Rechitsa in 1962. In 1977, they were renamed to Neftyanik Rechitsa (''Oiler'') and in 1980 to Sputnik Rechitsa (''Satellite''). In 1991, Sputnik won the Belarusian SSR First League (2nd level). In 1992, the club was renamed to Vedrich Rechitsa and included to newly created Belarusian Premier League.
