Alvesta () is a locality and the seat of Alvesta Municipality in Kronoberg County, Sweden, with 8,017 inhabitants in the urban area in 2010. Alvesta Municipality
Alvesta Municipality (''Alvesta kommun'') is a municipality in Kronoberg County, southern Sweden. Its seat is in Alvesta. The present municipality was created in 1971, when the market town (''köping'') Alvesta (instituted in 1945) was amalgamated with four surrounding rural municipalities. Amalgamations had also taken place in 1952 and 1963. The number of original local government entities within the present municipality is twelve. The municipal arms are from 1951 and depict three bees and a winged wheel. This symbolizes the railway that is so vital for the industry, while the bees signify the hard-working spirit that the locals pride themselves with. The municipality boasts nature areas and is suitable for fishing, canoeing or playing golf. The mansion of Huseby is a popular place to visit, located some 15 kilometers south of the town Alvesta, and hosts a couple of museums. Kronoberg County (; sv, Kronobergs län) is a county or '' län'' in southern Sweden. Kronoberg is one of three counties in the province of Småland. It borders the counties of Skåne, Halland, Jönköping, Kalmar, and Blekinge. Its capital is the city of Växjö. Värend
Värend was in the Middle Ages the most populous of the constituent "small lands" of the province Småland, in Sweden. Early on, Växjö became its center. Around 1170, Värend broke out of the diocese of Linköping, and formed its own diocese of Växjö. Judicially, Värend was a part of "Tiohärad", which roughly corresponds to present-day Kronoberg County. Avesta (locality)
Avesta () is a locality and the seat of Avesta Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 11,949 inhabitants in 2015. The name is first found in 1303 as "Aghastadhum". ''Aghe'' is of similar origin as the word å, meaning stream, in this case the Avestafors, a tributary of the river Dalälven. ''Stadhum'' was dative plural of a word of similar origin as stead, or farm. History In the Scandinavian Middle Ages there was a blast furnace at the location. In 1636 the construction of a giant copper mine was initiated near the Avesta fors. The town Avesta received partial privileges in 1641 as a town under the city of Falun, and in 1644 a copper mint was built. However, the privileges were withdrawn in 1688 due to complaints of competition from its neighbour, mainly Falun. Karlskrona
Karlskrona (, , ) is a locality and the seat of Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with a population of 66,675 in 2018. It is also the capital of Blekinge County. Karlskrona is known as Sweden's only baroque city and is host to Sweden's largest naval base and the headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard. Historically, the city has been home to a German minority, thus enabling the formation of a German Congregational church. It also counted Jewish people in its population.
