Alvarenga is a Portugal, Portuguese community in the municipality of Arouca, Portugal, Arouca. The population in 2011 was 1,223, in an area of 38.77 km². It was a town (''vila'') between 1514 and 1836. Was formed by the predecessor community of Alvarenga and Canelas (Arouca), Canelas. Had, in 1801, 1998 inhabitants. It home to sports club G.D. Arouca () is a city and a municipality in the Metropolitan Area of Porto, Norte Region, Portugal. The population in 2011 was 22,359, in an area of . It had 20,383 electors in 2006. The population has grown from 7072 inhabitants in 1801. Canelas (Arouca)
Canelas is a former civil parish, located in the municipality of Arouca, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Canelas e Espiunca. In 2001 it had an area of 20.89 km2, a population of 864 and a population density of 41.4 inhabitants/km2. Canelas has been part of Arouca since 1843.
