''Alternativas Económicas'' is a Spanish language monthly news magazine, which focuses on financial and social events, published in Barcelona, Spain. It is one of the publications which adopt slow journalism. History and profile ''Alternativas Económicas'' was first published in April 2013. Pere Rusiñol, Ariadna Trillas and Mariana Vilnitzky are the cofounders and editors of the magazine, which was modelled on '' Alternatives Economiques'', a French magazine published by a worker cooperative for journalists in France. ''Público'' () is a Spanish online newspaper. It was published as a print daily newspaper between 2007 and 2012. The print version folded but the newspaper continues online. History and profile ''Público'' was established in September 2007. The founder is Jaume Roures, head of Mediapro. One of only two national left-wing papers (the other being ''elDiario.es''), the paper had a harder-left editorial line than ''El País''. ''Público'' also aimed at a younger readership. Magazines in Spain are varied and numerous, but they have small circulation. In terms of frequency, the Spanish magazines are mostly weekly and monthly. Although there are news magazines and political magazines in the country, they mostly focuses on entertainment, social events, sports, and television. There were many influential feminist magazines in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in the country. The first magazine of which the editor-in-chief was a woman was '' El Robespierre Español'' existed in the period 1811–1812. The number of the mainstream women's magazines intensified in the 1960s.
