River Delta
A river delta is a landform shaped like a triangle, created by deposition (geology), deposition of sediment that is carried by a river and enters slower-moving or stagnant water. This occurs where a river enters an ocean, sea, estuary, lake, reservoir, or (more rarely) another river that cannot carry away the supplied sediment. It is so named because its triangle shape resembles the Greek letter Delta. The size and shape of a delta is controlled by the balance between watershed processes that supply sediment, and receiving basin processes that redistribute, sequester, and export that sediment. The size, geometry, and location of the receiving basin also plays an important role in delta evolution. River deltas are important in human civilization, as they are major agricultural production centers and population centers. They can provide Coast, coastline defense and can impact drinking water supply. They are also Ecology, ecologically important, with different species' assemblages ... For example, simply pressing ''A'' will type the letter 'a', but holding down the Alt key while pressing ''A'' will cause the computer to perform an function, which varies from program to program. The international standard ISO/IEC 9995-2 calls it ''Alternate key''. The key is located on either side of the space bar, but in non-US PC keyboard layouts, rather than a second Alt key, there is an ' Alt Gr' key to the right of the space bar. Both placements are in accordance with ISO/IEC 9995-2. With some keyboard mappings (such as US-International), the right Alt key can be reconfigured to function as an AltGr key although not engraved as such. The standardized keyboard symbol for the Alt key, (which may be used when the usual Latin lettering “Alt” is not preferred for labeling ...
