Alsterdorf () is a quarter in the Hamburg-Nord borough of the Hamburg, Germany. The name derives from the river Alster and its artificial lakes Außenalster and Binnenalster in the centre of Hamburg. Alsterdorfer Sporthalle
Alsterdorfer Sporthalle (originally known as the Sporthalle Hamburg) is an indoor arena in Hamburg, Germany. The arena holds up to 7,000 people with 4,200 seats. It opened in 1968 and is located in the city's quarter of Winterhude. It hosts mainly indoor sporting events ( HSV Handball), pop & rock concerts and trade shows. The 1978 World Fencing Championships were held here. In July 2010, all matches of the FIBA Under-17 World Championship 2010 were played in this hall. Hamburg-Nord (meaning ''Hamburg North'') is one of the seven boroughs of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, in northern Germany. Hamburg U-Bahn
The Hamburg U-Bahn is a rapid transit system serving the cities of Hamburg, Norderstedt and Ahrensburg in Germany. Although referred to by the term U-Bahn (the "U" commonly being understood as standing for "underground"), most of the system's track length is above ground. Winterhude () is a quarter in the ward Hamburg-Nord of Hamburg, Germany. As of 2020 the population was 56,382. History Winterhude was first mentioned in the 13th century, but archeological findings of tools, weapons and grave-mounds were dated to 1700 BC and 700 BC. During World War II the port of Hamburg and therefore Winterhude were targets of the air raids of the so-called Operation Gomorrah. Geography In 2006 according to the statistical office of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, the Winterhude quarter has a total area of 7.6 km².
