However, the 8th beat/precinct of Randolph County, was named "Flat Rock" (the earlier name for Almond) from 1870-1910 and as Almond from 1920-1950. Randolph County is a county on the central eastern border of the U.S. state of Alabama. Area code 334 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for southeastern Alabama. It was created on January 15, 1995, in an area code split from area code 205. and was the first new area code in Alabama since the implementation of area codes in 1947.
