Almah (album)
''Almah'' is the debut album of Almah, a solo project of Brazilian heavy metal singer and former Angra frontman Edu Falaschi. The lyrics are about the different feelings of the human being and the title phonetically means "soul" in the Portuguese language. It was released in 2006, with Falaschi touring to promote the album in Brazil along with former Symbols members Tito Falaschi (his brother) and Demian Tiguez. Almah (band)
Almah is a Brazilian heavy metal band. Initially established in 2006 as a side project of former Angra singer Edu Falaschi, the band has released five albums and has turned from a solo-project into a band with regular activities. Almah plays internationally since 2008 and was featured in festivals such as Rock in Rio (2013) and ProgPower USA (2015), among others. Band name Edu Falaschi stated that he was looking for a band name that was easy to remember and pronounce in all languages. In Portuguese and Spanish, ''Alma'' means "soul". He discovered that in Hebrew, ''Almah'' (עלמה), with an "h", means virgin and purity. He also stated that many religious people say what it means is the opposite. Stratovarius
Stratovarius is a Finnish power metal band that formed in 1985. Since their formation, they have released sixteen studio albums, five DVDs and six live albums. In its history, the band has gone through many chaotic lineup changes, and after founding guitarist Timo Tolkki's departure in 2008, there are no founding members of the band that remain. Currently, the longest standing member is singer Timo Kotipelto, who joined in 1994. The first incarnation of the band had the name Black Water, founded in August 1984 by singer and drummer Tuomo Lassila, guitarist Staffan Stråhlman, and bassist John Vihervä. Fábio Laguna
Fábio Laguna (Brazil, March 1977) is a keyboardist most famous for playing with Angra since 2001 and for being a member of Hangar band since 2002. In 2006 he released his last solo album called Freakeys along with members of both bands. Biography Born in Mococa, a small city from São Paulo state in Brazil, Fábio began playing simple keyboards from an early age. Along with his older brother André, both had keyboard classes, which Fabio dropped early. As a teenager, he began rehearsing within his first rock band and having his first small concerts. After that he played in a small professional night band and for 4 years he toured the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais in a VW Transporter (commonly known in Brazil as "Kombi", short form of "Kombinationfahrzeug"). Edu Ardanuy
Eduardo "Edu" Ardanuy (born June 20, 1967 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian guitarist who has worked with such bands as Dr. Sin, Anjos da Noite, Blezqi Zatzas, Supla and Eduardo Araújo. He was included in a 'Top 10 Greatest Guitar Players' ranking by the Guitar Player Magazine in 1998. He has also played with Steve Vai, being invited by him. Biography Ardanuy began studying music and playing acoustic guitar at age 13. Mike Stone (born November 30, 1969) is an American heavy metal guitarist, best known for his involvement in the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. He joined Queensrÿche for their 2003 Tribe tour, and made his first appearance on the 2003 album ''Tribe'', with writing credits for the song "Losing Myself". Stone was the guitarist for the rock band Speed-X, and currently the guitarist and backup vocalist of the alternative punk rock band, The Stick People. The Norwegian vocalist Roy Khan joined for the album ''Siége Perilous'', and shared songwriting credit with Youngblood until his departure in April 2011. Lauri Porra
Lauri Porra (born 13 December 1977) is a Finnish bass guitarist and a composer who has written scores for films and other media, as well as commissions from orchestras such as the Lahti Symphony and the Finnish Radio Symphony. He is also known for his work as the bass guitarist in Stratovarius. Porra is a fourth generation musician, and the great-grandson of famous Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Early life Porra started to study music at age 6 when he started to play cello in a local music school. In 1993 he switched to bass guitar and continued his studies in the Helsinki Pop Jazz Conservatory (1994–2004). He has also taken lessons in piano, double bass, trumpet and male vocals. Nightwish
Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen.
