Allford Hall Monaghan Morris is an architecture practice based in Clerkenwell, London, with offices in Bristol and Oklahoma. History Set up in 1989 by Simon Allford, Jonathan Hall, Paul Monaghan and Peter Morris, the practice employs over 500 people working on projects in education, healthcare, housing, arts and offices. Simon Allford
Simon Allford (born July 1961) is a British architect, co-founder and director of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), chair of the board of trustees of The Architecture Foundation, and current president of the Royal Institute of British Architects. The son of an architect, Simon Allford was born in July 1961. He attended the University of Sheffield and the Bartlett School of Architecture, where he has since worked as a lecturer. In 1989, with Jonathan Hall, Paul Monaghan and Peter Morris, he established AHMM. The practice today employs over 500 people working on projects in education, healthcare, housing, arts and offices. In 2017, it became majority employee-owned through an employee ownership trust. Commission For Architecture And The Built Environment
The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) was an executive non-departmental public body of the UK government, established in 1999. It was funded by both the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Department for Communities and Local Government. It was merged into the Design Council on 1 April 2011. Function CABE was the government's advisor on architecture, urban design and public space in England. Its job was to influence and inspire the people making decisions about the built environment. Assembly Bristol is an office block in Bristol, England. It is near the Temple Way dual carriageway and the Floating Harbour. History The site was previously occupied by Temple Way House which contained offices for Clerical Medical. It was demolished in 2008. Construction on Assembly Bristol began in early 2019. Burntwood School
Burntwood School is a girls' secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Wandsworth, London, England, opened in September 1986. It is one of the largest state schools for girls at the secondary level in the country. History The school opened in September 1986, replacing Garratt Green Comprehensive Girls' School, which had formerly occupied the site, and nearby Mayfield School for Girls. The first headmistress of Burntwood was Brigid Beattie-Moriarty. Her obituary in ''The Guardian'' called the school "an outstanding centre of multi-cultural education". The Saatchi Gallery is a London gallery for contemporary art and an independent charity opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985. An employee ownership trust (EOT) holds a permanent or long-term shareholding in a company on trust for the benefit of all the company’s employees. An EOT provides indirect (trust) employee ownership of a company.
