Allen McReynolds
Allen McReynolds (November 7, 1877 - September 29, 1960) was an American politician from Carthage, Missouri, who served in the Missouri Senate. He served in the Missouri National Guard. McReynolds was educated in Missouri public schools and at the University of Missouri. In 1940, he ran for the Democratic nomination for governor of Missouri. Carthage, Missouri
Carthage is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 15,522 as of the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Jasper County and is nicknamed "America's Maple Leaf City." History Jasper County was formed in 1841. Carthage was chosen as the county seat, the area cleared and the town platted in 1842. The city was named after ancient Carthage. By the time of the American Civil War, there were over 500 residents, a brick and stone courthouse, and several businesses. The area was divided over slavery, and almost all of the African-Americans in the county at the time were slaves. The Missouri Senate is the upper chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 34 members, representing districts with an average population of 174,000. Its members serve four-year terms, with half the seats being up for election every two years. The Senate chooses a President Pro Tempore to serve in the absence of the lieutenant governor or when he shall have to exercise the office of governor of Missouri if there is a vacancy in that office due to death, resignation, impeachment, or incapacitation. Members of the Missouri General Assembly are prohibited from serving more than eight years in either the state house of representatives or state senate, or a total of sixteen years, due to statutory term limits. George Rozier
George A. Rozier (August 13, 1902 - 1984) was an American Republican politician and lawyer who has served in the Missouri General Assembly in the Missouri Senate being first elected to the senate in 1934. He also served as the Prosecuting Attorney of Perry County, Missouri, having been first elected to this position in 1926. Born in St. Mary, Missouri, he was educated at Perryville public schools, Chaminade College in Clayton, and at Saint Louis University where he received a law degree. Rozier practiced law for over 50 years, mostly in Jefferson City, Missouri. He resigned his senate seat in October 1941 to become chief counsel for the state Unemployment Compensation Commission.
